- Reader's POV -
Garam feels someone shake her rather violently. "G-Garam unnie! Garam unnie! Wake up!"
Garam wakes up, her eyes snapping open and sees Eunchae standing beside her bed with a concerned expression. "What is it Eunchae?" She asks sleepily."What time is it even.." Garam yawns, stretching her legs and arms before standing up to look out the window. "It's dark outside.." She murmurs, "But what is it that you want-" Eunchae interrupts her by yelling, "Get down!" Garam jumps, startled by the sudden shout and quickly ducks.
And she wraps her arms around Garam holding her close, covering her head and shielding her. "Eunchae what's this all about?"
"Don't you hear that? There's something outside, unnie." Eunchae says and Garam frowns, tilting her head. "No, I don't. Are you sure?" Eunchae nods, "Yeah. Do you hear it? It's like an animal howling. Or maybe a person crying. Or a monster. A monster is probably a better guess."
Garam sighs and sits up. "It's probably just the wind, Eunchae." She says, but Eunchae shakes her head. "No, no. It's not the wind. There's something outside." Eunchae whispers. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, unnie."
"Eunchae calm down, it's just the helicopter outside. The military must be flying over." Garam stands up and heads for the door. Eunchae follows her and grabs her wrist stopping her from opening the door. "No! You can't leave the house!"
"But it's just a helicopter, Eun. Is this fever causing you hallucinations now too?" Garam asks, raising an eyebrow. "You're being so mean unnie.." Eunchae breathes out her cheeks puffed and she looks like a pouty child, Garam chuckles and pats her head.
"I'm not, I'm just trying to figure out why you're acting this way." Eunchae clings to her leg and whines, "Because there's something outside, unnie.. Something bad.. It's dangerous out there." She mumbles into Garam's thigh.
"And what exactly is this something?"
"A monster." Eunchae answers, her grip tightening on Garam's leg. "And what kind of monster is it?" Garam asks and Eunchae looks up at her with her big round doe eyes. "A very dangerous one, unnie."
"Eunchae."
"Yes, unnie?"
"Let go of me." Garam orders and Eunchae immediately releases her. "You know, Eun, you're not making any sense right now. But we have school today, and I really gotta go now.."
"No! Don't leave me, unnie! Please! I don't wanna be alone! It's scary! What if the monster comes and gets me?!"
"I'm pretty sure it won't, Eunchae. Plus there are no monsters out there. It's just a helicopter, okay? Now, can you please let me go to school?"
"No! No, no, no, no, no! You can't go, unnie! You'll get hurt! Please stay here with me!" Eunchae exclaims, her voice filled with panic and desperation.
"But what about the others?"
"They can't go either!" Garam sighs softly, "I really need to buy you some medicine." She says, rubbing her temples. Eunchae sighs and gets up doing something very unexpected.
"E-Eunchaeee!! W-What are you doinggg!!??" She hugs her tightly, "I can't have you leave me.. What if the monster gets you too, unnie?" She breathes, burying her face into the crook of Garam's neck. "Ya..! That tickles!" Garam giggles as Eunchae starts kissing her neck, the sensation sending shivers down her spine.
