"It's been a couple of months
That's just about enough time
For me to stop crying when I look at all the pictures
Now I kinda smile, I haven't felt that in a while"

The day of the testing came far too quickly for Kaida's liking. It felt like yesterday the pair were getting reaped and shoved onto the train, but here they now sat waiting for their names to be called.

The duo had sat in pure silence as the names were announced one by one. The only words having been spoken by the blonde a single sentence of encouragement to the shaking girl from District 3. Now, they just sat in comfortable peace. Thoughts making their home in their minds as they dwelled on what they would portray to the judges. Kaida was still slightly unsure what she would portray but decided to just let the events play out. If she gets a damned three, than so be it.

When the automated voice called out her name, both Angel and Kaida couldn't stop their sudden intake of air. She arose quietly, sending a wink to Angel in hopes of getting her point across. The unspoken words looming through the air - don't fuck up.

Immediately upon entering, she was bathed in silence compared to the boisterous laughter she heard a moment before. She knew the heavier footsteps she walked with would gain her attention, even going to the extent of clearing her throat once breaching the middle. "Kaida Crestwood. District 9" She rasped out with her face stern and unyielding. The onlookers dismissively waved her on. They didn't care for a fated dead soul.

The blonde mumbled slight curses under her breath at the notion, instantly becoming annoyed by the higher-ups who paid her no mind. They simply wanted her for entertainment. To them, this was a party they had been waiting to enjoy, but Kaida wouldn't give that to them that easily.

The girl turned and set her eyes upon the sickles she had used yesterday. They sat, shining and alluring, as if craving for her hands to grasp them and use them to her advantage. With a confident stride, she grabbed the deadly weapons and walked back to the middle viewing ground. Taking a steady intake of breath, only one thought crossed her mind.

Show them you are better.

And as she bent over and scrapped the pointed metal upon the ground, all eyes flitted to her in mere seconds. Two twin marks had cut through the cement at her hands, the floor becoming her outing of rage. And when she looked down at her slight creation the girl couldn't help a pleased expression from washing over her. The marks laid besides the other, looking as if a giant beast had ripped its way inside and imbedded its claws into the rough surface.

With a mocking wave, the girl started her display of weaponry.

Striding to the dummies stacked against the wall - five in line as if soldiers ready for battle - she reached over for a set of six knives. Positioning herself in front of the third one down which made her about halfway, she didn't spare a single look at the intrigued eyes she knew were resting on her. Kaida needed to show them that she wasn't another toy of the district, trained to be brought to death at the hands of the capitol. That she would earn their attention but they would never earn hers.

The following moment she threw the sickle with all her might, the tipped end of the blade imbedding into the wood behind the dummies head. It had left the curved end of the blade wrapped around the neck of it, successfully pinning the fake person to the wall behind it. Had the wall not be present, everyone in the room knew it would've sliced the head clean off.
