That old fogey thought it was happening because I was burying myself in books. He didn't know what was happening inside my brain. Anyways I decided to cut the afternoon sessions and went to a restaurant to have a cup of coffee; I wanted to recollect each part of that dream. Lily came to tell me her wish_ she wanted a baby's heart. I had to fulfill my sister's wish but I didn't know how. I paid for my coffee and was about to head back to my car without grabbing anyone's attention, but suddenly something caught mine.

A beautiful baby around 2 years was sitting on top of one of the tables in the end. There weren't anyone near her; the only few customers sat in front. I felt the sudden instinct to take her and run away but I knew I had to resist that urge; otherwise I would end up in big trouble. There were CCTVs which had caught my face, I suppressed my hunger for blood and walked towards that pretty baby. She looked inquisitively with her light blue eyes. We stood like that for almost a minute, I felt like she was perusing me. Then suddenly her face changed_ she started crying. I took her in my arms and tried to comfort her, but it wasn't useful.

"Bitch, stop crying. I'm not going to take your heart now." I hissed in her ear knowing it won't work. She started crying even more loudly, she was trying to attract everyone's attention. Suddenly a young pretty girl, probably around 19 or 20, ran towards us with a stunned face.

"I'm so sorry ...I went to take my bag from the car." Then she suddenly took the baby from my hands and held in hers comfortably. That wicked creature stopped crying all of a sudden_ it knew whose hands were safe.

"I'm really sorry, was she giving you a hard time?" She asked.

"No, I think she might've got scared being alone." I said poking the baby's chin.

"Is this your baby?"

"Yeah." She said in a hushed tone.

"But you look so young..."She just smiled and didn't say anything.

"Where is her dad?" I asked trying to create a rapport.

"He left us." She said with a half smile.

"Oh, I'm sorry. He is a bastard. I'm sure he'll regret doing such a horrendous thing to a beautiful girl like you." She gave me a fetching smile.

"Well, what is your name?"

"Emily Arthur."

"And she?" I asked looking at the baby.

"Janet Arthur."

"Can I buy you a coffee so that I could spend a bit more time with Janet?" I requested. I knew she was reluctant but said yes not to offend me.

"I was 17 when I became pregnant. My boyfriend and my parents abandoned me when I told them this." Emily spoke in a low voice; it was very difficult to make her talk about her personal life, she kept on steering out when I pressed her with questions. I could clearly tell that she wanted to go.

"From then on you started being alone?" I asked in pity. She nodded.

"Well, I should tell you this Emily. You are doing great." I said with an affirmative smile.

"You remind me of my mother. She was pregnant with me at the age of 18. Her parents abandoned her, my dad was an alcoholic; he used to her daily." I managed to let fall a drop of tear to support my lie. "My dad died in a car crash when I was 14. My mom and I started to love our lives only after his death. We forgot about our cruel past and started to lead a peaceful life but it didn't last long. She passed away last year."

"Oh, I'm sorry." Her face turned red and her eyes began to swell with tears.

"I can see my mom in you Emily. I know, being a teen mom isn't easy." She started crying.

"It's... very difficult. Sometimes I feel like ending this life." She wept loudly.

"No Emily. Don't even think about it. You are really strong. I have mad respect for you." I tried to motivate her. Janet looked her mother with wide eyes and then slowly wiped her mother's tears.

"See, she does not want you to cry." I said. Emily smiled and kissed her baby.

Igave her my number when we were about to leave and told her to contact me ifshe needed. She nodded but I knew she won't do it. Something inside me told meto follow her; perhaps it was because of the dream about Lily. I felt thedesire to pluck out that baby's heart. I obeyed that voice and followed hercovertly. She was leading an anonymous life in a tiny flat. I went back to myhome, visualizing different ways of killing that baby.

I walked into to Lily's bedroom. It was difficult for me to stay inside it even for a minute after her death. It contained her smell; I could feel her presence inside that room. Each thing inside it was filled with her memories.

Adam sat on her soft bed and touched the mattress tenderly. Suddenly the memories which he buried deep down in his head began to lay bare.

"Adam, my head is paining. Save me Adam, I don't want to die." Lily screamed clasping Adam's hand tight.

"You're not going to die Lily." He tried to stophimself from crying and took her in his arms. She was crying uncontrollably.Adam ran towards the car and laid her straightly in the backseat. Lily shookher legs frantically, her eyes rolled back. Adam felt the presentiment of herdeath; he knew she would not be able to make it. Tears rolled down from his dark green eyes as he drove to the hospital. He heard her death rattle and  her fragile body shivering frantically. Then suddenly it stopped. Lily lied motionless, her eyes rolled back and her mouth open. Adam knew she died.
