It's just a dare, remember?

Della's POV:

After Hermione left the classroom I shortly followed making my way over to my next class.
Care of Magical Creatures.

That class was one of my favorites. I loved the Professor.

Hagrid.
I also love all creatures. Especially dragons, they're such misunderstood creatures. They're gorgeous. I also realized I have it with Ron.

I never talked to Ron and he never talked to me so I found it a bit weird that he asked me but I still said yes because it would be so lame to go alone and just stand there and have no one to dance with. I still haven't gotten a dress but I'll go with Hermione soon and we both can pick out our dresses.

Speaking of Hermione she hasn't told me who's she going with. All she told me was that she had a date but wouldn't tell me who.

Hagrid had Buckbeak today. Last time Harry got to pet and take a ride on its back. I wanted to this time. Maybe I could.

"Hello! If ya don't mind being a little more quiet? Thank ya."

Hagrid finally made the class quiet so we could get started.
"If ya don't know already this is Buckbeak. He's a lot calmer than last year but still a bit hesitant. Does anyone want to volunteer?"

No one raised there hand. I stood in the front not realizing that the people behind me backed away so that I looked like I volunteered.

"Della! Thank you for volunteering. Walk over slowly and-"

I cut him off by walking up slowly, raising my hands up so that Buckbeak wouldn't think I had something that could hurt him with.

Then I bowed my head when I got close to him but kept eye contact with him. He bowed his head next. Quicker than he did with Harry.

"Great job! Now go ahead and pet him."

I walked closer to Buckbeak stopping when I was right in front of him. He leaned in. Looking at me dead in the eye. He looked at my hand and nudged it so I could pet him.

I was shocked and by the sound of everyone else they were too. Even Hagrid. I pet Buckbeaks head. He closed him eyes and leaned in closer to my hand.

I never once took my eyes off of him.
"Great Della. Real great. Would you like to go for a ride with him?"

Ron's POV:
***
"Would you like to go for a ride with him?"
Why did he ask her that? Of course she won't. I thought to myself.

"I would love too!" I heard Della say.

What?! Did she really just say yes?!

She hoped on Buckbeaks back with a huge smile on her face. She looked... Cute? It seemed like Harry noticed.

"You don't like her do you? It's just a dare,
remember?" He whispered into my ear. I looked around making sure no one else heard.

"Of course I don't like her and yes I know it's just a dare." Right after I finish saying that Della and Buckbeak shot into the air.

Della was even hold onto him. She had her hands up in the air!

Della's POV
***
We shot into the air after Hagrid let him fly. I had my hands up in the air. I felt the air breeze through my hair. It felt like a completely different world. I loved it!

I think Buckbeak was too. He was chirping and making all the happiest sounds he could. He felt free. So did I. We went above the black lake getting closer to it. Buckbeaks claws touched the water. I leaned down and touched as well. It was very cold but I didn't care. Nothing could ruin this moment for me.

We turned around heading back over to Hagrid. I was a bit disappointed that it was over already but I knew that it wasn't going to be the last time. We landed softly on the ground.

I jumped off of Buckbeak. Hermione ran up to me and hugged me.

"You could have died!" She exclaimed after pulling away from the hug. I laughed.

"We'll I didn't. It was amazing the wind was blowing through my hair and everything was beautiful." I said still laughing with a huge smile on my face.

"Great job Della. What did ya think?" Hagrid said walking over to me.

"I loved it. Thank you Hagrid." I said.
"Anytime." He responded.

I looked over at Ron and noticed him looking at me. I smiled at him but he looked away. Weird. I thought to myself.

Ron's POV
***
She smiled at me! ME!

And all I did was look a way from her. That was rude but I had to keep reminding myself that it was just a dare and it was only for the Yule ball. I wouldn't even have to dance with her. I would just leave her just like Lavender had planned. I just need to follow through.

It's just a dare, remember?  Harry's words rang in my head. I felt more than that. I think I might actually love her. She's brave, nice and seems loyal. It's just a dare Ronald nothing more. Nothing at all. I had to keep reminding myself that. It's just for a couple of days. She won't get attached to me and I won't get attached to her. Yeah I won't.

I look back her and she's laughing with Hermione. She looked beautiful when she laughs. No she doesn't Ronald. I reminded myself. Ugh this is going to be hard trying to not be attached to her or fall in love with her. That wasn't part of the dare.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Is Ron falling in love? I wonder what will happen at the Yule ball. Keep reading to find out. I'm trying to update this as much as I can. I know I haven't updated my other story in awhile but it's harder with that one because I have to follow the movies for that one the most.
