◆𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍. You wondered how it always went away so fast. Did you really eat that much that fast? The only food items fitting in your budget were the cheap snacks at the convenience store, Snacks and Go. Did all of the food there taste like cardboard? Yes. But it was cheap and close enough to the motel for it to be, well, convenient. So that is what you were doing today. Get some food, run a couple errands, and try to keep your mind off of what Ambrose said the day before. You knew it was bad to ignore the very obvious issues. But what could you do? He was technically one of your bosses, he told you what to do and paid you. If you did anything you'd get fired, and knowing the odd looks you get from the other townspeople you'd probably wouldn't get hired anywhere else for being an "outsider".
You sighed and shook your head. Now's not the time to think about that! You most likely won't even see him today- hopefully. You said goodbye to the motel owner and headed outside. It was nice out today. The warm breeze brushed past you, the afternoon sun felt nice on your skin, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. This was why you liked fall. Not too cold but not too hot either, a good mix of both. You shrugged off your jacket, guess you wouldn't be needing this-
"(Y/N)!"
A shiver went up your spine. Was it just you or did the temperature shoot down to freezing cold? You looked back. It was Knell, who looked dead tired but yet was still smiling. "First time in a while that I haven't seen you besides at the church. Mind if I join you? If you're not too busy, of course." It'd be really awkward if you said no, but you weren't really in the mood to talk to others either. "..Erm well I'm only going grocery shopping, nothing too special. I'm sure you'd like to spend your time doing something less boring." He let out a short laugh and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, you couldn't help but shake a little from just how cold his skin was. Was it even humanly possible to be this freezing? "Time with you is never boring, (N/N)! I hang out with you today, okay? That won't be a problem, right (N/N)?" "...No, no of course not." His smile grew larger, "Great!"
(N/N)? That's new. "Now, you're heading to that lil gas station right? I know that you like to go there often. I find it funny, they got gas pumps there but no one has a car in this town. Like, what are they exactly for?" How does everyone know you go there? Is this just common knowledge? "Yeah, I just need to pick up a few things."
