I changed the ending of the last chapter. As an author here's a point of advice- don't listen to your younger cousins for writing ideas.... they're never good ideas.
◆𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍... 𝐍𝐎𝐓-𝐒𝐎-𝐒𝐘𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐘. It was odd, but in a good way. The people here were actually nice to you. They weren't strange priests or people untrusting of you... they were warm, accepting. Everything Sycamore Valley wasn't. And, yet... something was off. Faces you've seen everyday for months were constructed differently, voices a pitch too high or low. Wherever you were, whether it was a different version of Sycamore Valley or something of the like, you did not like it. Because, at least Sycamore Valley was up front with its shadiness.
You were growing restless. You felt as though the longer you don't find a way back to your Sycamore something bad is going to happen in this Sycamore Valley. ...As if there hadn't been plenty of bad things happening to you in the old Sycamore. It was laughable you wanted to go back. You'd prefer to go home, but you weren't sure where home was. So the old Sycamore would have to do. The old version was better anyway. You never imagined yourself thinking that but it was true. It was so bland here. The people you knew and tolerated were now totally different. Silas was an average priest, no strange remarks eluding to some morally questionable things. Ambrose's character had changed to quiet and shy, so conversations with him were awkward- and yet, the remarks of you not leaving him stayed. Knell was... well not Knell anymore. There were no ramblings of whatever bullshit he comes up with that day- and no slutty eyeliner either. Valerie changed to a stereotypical religious girl, so no matter what you said she just shrugged it off with a 'just pray and you will be saved'. The only good thing is that you haven't been threatened at gun point... so you have that going for you, at least. This town was not Sycamore Valley anymore. It was a boring straight person town. There was no sign of queerness in this town and it was driving you insane.
You had to get out of here.
If there's a way in than there's a way out right? You first checked the way you got here, the church. It was the way you came in so maybe you can get out that way too. You checked everything, and yet... nothing. Surely there would be something, right? Silas, Knell, and Ambrose lived here. That in itself says something- if it was your Sycamore version's priests. But they weren't. You learned quickly that if there was something shady happening in this town, they wouldn't be part of it. They seemed clean and actual god-honoring people. No secrets in sight. Not even a possessed bathroom mirror.
