*Heart of the Cards

Sleep didn't come to Kokia until late into the night, as she had to clean the least damaged dorm room she had found after only looking through a few rooms. However, before she could even do that, she and everyone else had slowly grown concerned, as it took Crowley about fifteen minutes to snap out of whatever mental crisis he was undergoing. Kokia was ready to see if she could try to make him eat a Persim berry (1) when he snapped back to attention and quickly left the dorm with a hurried goodnight.

At last, she closed her eyes while lying in a bed with musty sheets and a couple of patched-up quilts she had found in the dorm room closet. It felt like she had just shut her eyes, only to open them a second later to the unfamiliar cries of the world's fauna. Nokia greeted their sleepy friend with the current time thanks to a correct school WI-Fi password and login details given by Crowley.

"...5:55am? Eugh, usually I'm up for any time of day, but I don't have the ability to wake up this soon." The grumbling moaned while Waiho and Mikia watched her try to leave her cocoon of quilts and not knock over the fire cat that was dead asleep at her feet.

After another five minutes to untangle herself from the cocoon she made and not kick Grim from the bed, she stumbled her way to get ready for the day. She quickly took a cold shower in the old bathroom that still seemed in good shape, if you didn't count the cracked tile floor and peeling wallpaper. (At least the dorm has water running, but for how long will it last till the old iron and clay pipes finally give out?") She debated while opening the medicine cabinet that hung next to the foggy bath mirror. "Maybe they got some sort of magic Ducklett tape for this."

*THUNK*

Kokia watched in silence as the door from the medicine cabinet she had closed clattered to the floor. "Ok..., whole alota tape then."

As the headmaster would not arrive for a while longer, she made herself comfortable on one of the old sofa chairs in the lobby. The light entered the area from the quickly patched front window, which honestly now looked like it made more cracks appear. It gave the room a surreal feel to it as if this place held countless forgotten memories. And it also looked a bit like that game Acerola had shown her before; she can't remember the name, but it was about a guy named Doel, she thinks.

Left to look about the room, she couldn't help but let her mind wander. ("I wonder what will happen today, nermindwhatshouldIeatanwhaaboutbackhome-") Her thoughts were torn away from that chaotic storm by Kupua as he pawed at her shoulder, her bag held in his paws. His stern look was apparent, along with the rest of her team's concerned gazes. "Guess I spaced out again, huh guys?"

Her team quickly gave their confirmation while Kupua's ear twitched while he dug through the items from her bag. After a moment, a familiar shell comb was deposited into her hand as he jumped onto her lap. "Brax!" (Brush time!) He demanded.

"Alright, guess it did get a little dusty last night." She conceded and began to groom the dramatic fox on her lap. Kupua hummed in satisfaction before someone else jumped onto his lap.

"Brai!?" (Get off, its my turn first. Kolo!?) He complained as Kolo began to climb on top of him, and then it seemed that Mikia was also attempting to shove them off their trainer's lap.

"ELec!" (ME ThIrD!)

"Wait, Nahu, don't! The chair won't-"

*CRACK*

One broken chair, a lecture, and breakfast for her Pokemon later. She now relaxed on the lounging sofa, half emptying her bag for an inventory check. After sorting out her things and placing items like options, Pokeballs, and her Z Crystals to the side as she didn't want to walk around with all this stuff on her. Finally she opened the pouches that held her cards and sighed in relief that they seemed to be in good condition. "Man, I knew I made these by hand, but I guess the wax sealant worked better than I thought for how glossy and shiny the finish is."
