"Y/n! Darling! I need you!" Their mother calls out and they immediately come racing to her. "What is it, Mama?" Only a year had passed since their sibling and father left the two behind but the two were just fine together, fighting against the odds. Their cousins from America helped with expenses as much as they could and were happy to hear the both of us were healing from the experience.
"Can you help me reach for that?" She asks, her voice had a warm feeling to it with the additional warm smile. "Of course!" Y/n jumps onto the counter and retrieves what their mother was in need of happily. A trustworthy and happy energy was always in the small but cosy home despite the lacking of two important members who had left out of fear.
The two had decided to stop waiting and live their lives to their hearts content, baking together on Saturdays was one of them. "Do we have the cookie cutters this time?" Y/n's voice peaks up as they help make the cookie dough. Their mother nods and points over to where the small shaped cutters should be at.
Y/n smiles happily and runs over to get them.
If only it stayed that way.
