二十 The Future I Wish For

Third Person

Y/n, of all people, would think to do something stupid. They would, that is just who they are. Being seperated from Yokohama meant they felt awfully homesick... how they wished to eat their mothers food and be welcomed in their little home once more. Unfortunately, Y/n never had that luck. And who were they to say otherwise to this new opportunity right in front of them?

"Y/n! Hurry up! It's a meteor shower tonight!" Their cousin interrupts their train of thought.

"Maybe next time..."

Y/n mumbles to themself, putting the bottle down and running out to where they were watching the meteor shower, humming to the song 'Meteor Shower' by 'Cavetown' as it fit the occasion.

Y/n sits down on the blanket they had prepared to sit on, eating a few roasted marshmallows that were being made while waiting for the meteors.

But the hues in out hair compliment one another

There were no clouds in view, the sky clean and clear. Even with Y/n's usually blindfold covering their eyes, they could see the shining stars with ease.

I'd sell my own bones

Y/n turns up the volume in their headphones, smiling quietly to the song playing through.

For saphire stones

"Look! Here they come!"

'Cause blue is your favourite colour

'I wonder if Osamu is seeing the same sky?'

Missing pieces of my skull

The bright meteors start and someone pulls off Y/n's blindfold, surprising them but not complaining.

Will sew on patches of my own soul

The marshmallows get eaten while everyone is in a trance while watching it all.

There is nothing you or I can do

So let the stars fall down

'Cause from up here, the sky is my thoughts
