As I go through my regular duties of repairing I get called over.
"L/N Ardmore is calling for you!" I looked back at him curiously.
"By whom??" I say as I slowly put down my tools on the metal table.
"I think you know who haha" he says giggling while walking away quickly.
It was that stinking bitch Ardmore. God damn it out of all the times she could've call me it's now? I groan as I jog over to base and into the control room. I enter breathing slightly heavy due to the long jog I had to do just to get to her.
"Yes Ardmore, you called?" I say closing the door behind me and crossing my arms.
"L/N I have a new role for you, a very important one." She says slapping her papers onto a desk and turning around towards me.
I glanced at her suspiciously trying to hide my annoyance.
"And what role is this?"
"You will now be working under Quaritch, with the Project Phoenix."
I've heard of Quaritch and I heard little rumors about him, such as how he can be a sarcastic asshole and he can be very overwhelmingly strict and assertive. Not only that I knew he did some pretty dark things for Project Phoenix. I never agreed to any of it, I only worked with the RDA as both a mechanic and scientist, not because I wanted but because I had to.
"Uh huh I see, but why do you need me to do this job specifically?"
"Well to say it simply, you are both a mechanic and scientist. A two in one we need. Quaritch will be coming soon to meet you at base B16 at 01500 so don't be late." She says before looking down at her watch.
"I best recommend you get to there before he gives you something you don't want to do." She says sarcastically and condescendingly before looking back at me with a raised eyebrow.
I look down at my watch at it was 13 minutes away from being 01500
"Shit, I'll go head over there now then, thanks for meeting with me at this time." I say rolling my eyes as I reach out to the door knob.
"I almost forgot to mention, you're avatar body is ready by the way. You will be using it during the mission or really whenever I don't care as long as you don't kill it." She says walking away as she picks up the paperwork and heads to another door.
I smile widely but I quickly hide it with my hand cause there's no way I'm smiling at that sour miserable ass. I looked back at my watch again.
"SHIT I REALLY NEED TO GO!"
I quickly turn the door knob and run outside and I see the base, it's so far yet so close. I continue running and almost bumped into some people on the way. As I keep running I hit against a tall figure as I was about to get into the door.
"God damn, my bad are you okay?" I say scrunching and looking up at a blue figure.
It was the good old Colonel Quaritch, I look at him wide eyed.
He reaches down and grabs me with my arm gently but still firm and picks me up.
"Don't want you already out of mission now do we?" He says jokingly as he down at me.
