Chapter 5: Shut up

Quaritch leans closer to me, as I back up to the point that my back is against the trailer.

"Now you listen here cupcake, I don't got time to be dealing with your sentimental feelings, I have a mission to complete and you will not be pulling us behind." He says pointing his finger at me

"I don't give a rats ass about your damn mission, you should know better that these are children, not full grown adults!" I growl back at him

He slams his first against the trailer, his fist inches away from my face.

"I either tape that pretty mouth of yours shut, and tie your wrists. Or you shut that pie hole yourself and do your job. Take your pick." He says looking at me impatiently while still leaning over me. Our bodies closer than before.

"I'll do the job....but I will say if you go out of line again I will not hesitate." I say glaring at him.

He takes a moment looking at me and then pull away and then he walks away from me.

"Follow." He says with his back turned

I follow him back to the crew.

"Alright, more than likely Jake and his woman will be coming to rescue their children so be prepared. L/N you're with me."

"W-"

"Na ah I don't want to hear so much as a peep out of you."

My tail swishes in annoyance but I comply. We circle around together as we keep an eye out for for them. As we look around I quickly noticed the kids ears twitch to a sound. I knew that they were here. Seconds later we see someone fall with an arrow attached to their skull. Before I could even react Quaritch pushes me to the side with the kids and pulls out his gun and starts shooting. As I glakce at the kids I quickly hurried them out.

"Let's go I need you guys to run go home!" I say worried and they look at me surprised and nod as I lead them away Quaritch noticed right away and tried to grab me by my tail but couldn't get to me because he was busy trying to protect himself.

"Go go go!" I say leading them somewhere safe. I noticed the mother but the kids signaled the mother that they were safe as we head out together. Making me sigh in relief. We hear from the distance guns going off and arrows being shot. I turn to look back but then Spider falls down.

"Spider!" The girl yells

"Oh no.." I say worried but then I see the mother coming and grabbing her daughter and looking at me up and down before quickly disappearing. I head down quickly to Spider checking him. As I do so I see the crew coming in quickly. And Quaritch sees me holding spider and he looked worried, he rubs over and leans down to quickly pick up spider.

"We will talk later! Fall back!" He says quickly to me and tells everyone to fall back as we head back to the spot we were going to be picked up at. We quickly go back and I put the wire on my belt and we go up, completely disappearing.

Back on base:
"Alright take the boy to Ardmore." He says waving the crew off, as I try to swiftly go join them but he stops me in my tracks.

"You stay." He says pointing at me.

I gulped. Once everyone disappeared, he comes up to me stomping his feet.

"Now what the hell were you thinking taking those kids! I told you already to leave those sentimental feelings!"

"Oh screw you, those are god damn children Quaritch. You sure were sweet to your son, but screw the other kids though right?" I say raising my voice

"Now listen here, that boy is a prisoner and nothing more. Now get that attitude and feelings of yours corrected or I will do it for you. Now we have to go back to Ardmore and explain everything." He says looking at me even more mad, he then grabs my wrists and leads me back to base to go with Ardmore. We stop infront of the door.

"I'll do the talking and you sit there with your mouth glued shut." He says before opening the door for me aggressively. I go in to see Ardmore and then infront of her was a two sided mirror with the boy on the other end acting crazy.

"So why were you guys out of placement." She says turning to look at Quaritch.

"We had a situation with Jake and his wife, we were holding the kids until they came in killing my good men." He says in a serious tone

"And was that all that happened?" She says glancing at me and then back at Quaritch.
I looked at him anxiously, worried he'll tell her about my outbursts and the fact that I helped the children escape.

"That was all Ardmore." He says still serious.

"Hmph," she says walking away suspiciously before brushing it off and leaving.

I lowly sigh in relief and glance back at him seeing him grab a cup of coffee and offering me one.

"Thanks, why didn't you-" he gives me a signal to not mention anything due to us not being completely alone, since almost everything is hardwired.I nod and take the coffee from him and sit next to him as we look at his son on the other end behaving like a monkey. Making me giggle a bit since he was cussing in Na'vi at the camera.

"That really is your son huh."

"Well not exactly mine per say, more like the old Quaritchs son.I might sound or look like him but of course the smirf version. But I'm not him I'm just his memories and personality." He says taking a sip

"Really you guys seem the EXACT same way as I heard about." I say sipping my coffee before he takes a quick cold look at me. What was interesting was that he didn't like being reminded that he was Quaritch or really was.

We get pulled into another room seeing them attach some things to the boy. I looked at it confused and I see Ardmore stand on the podium then the machine starts turning. For a good while the boy was being questioned, or really tortured while Ardmore repeatedly asked him for the location of Jake Sully. I ball my fists trying to remain calm. Quaritch takes notice and puts his hand on my first gently and I look at him confused but still angry, he doesn't look back at me and then goes forward pressing the stop button. He slowly walks over to Ardmore.

"General let me try a personal angle" he says leaning towards her.

She looks behind her back at the boy before looking back and Quaritch.
"He's not your son." She says coldly causing me to ball my fists again. She then walks away, I look at her annoyed before walking towards Quaritch.

"Poor baby..." I say looking at Spider wanting to take all the stupid crap off of him. Quaritch looks at me warmly but quickly hides it as he blinks rapidly.

"Lets go back to the room, they'll take this crap off of him and I'll talk to him." He says walking away with me.

I nod and follow him to the next room.
