CAPTAIN SHOTO'S POV

I got back to my ship and went head up straight to my office. I placed the sketch of the mermaid on my desk and scanned it.

'I have to set up a trap to capture this, but where exactly? The beach of this island is narrow, and I don't know where to start.'

A soft knock on the door echoed throughout the room, "Captain, there's a minor inconvenience," Eijiro said with a worried voice.

I raised my eyebrow at his statement and followed him. We went up the deck and I saw a wee lad/lassie.

Their head turned, and their eyes lit up when they saw me. They ran towards to my direction and hugged my leg.

"This isn't a minor inconvenience... This is a huge problem!" I stated as I stared at the child.

"Prince Shoto!" they said with excitement.

"One of the Cabin boys saw this child in the storage room, hiding inside a barrel. Plus, our food supply won't make it to the next destination – because of a certain someone," Eijiro informed as he stared at the child.

"The food supply is easy to solve, but this wee lad/lassie ain't. As he called me Prince, I guessed they're from my hometown back in Ojie Isle," I knelt to level with the child's height, "and what is the wee lad/lassie's name?".

"They call me (Y/n) at the orphanage!" wee lad/lassie replied. "And I want to travel around the world and find treasures!" (Y/n) added.

"Can we keep it?" Ochaco Uraraka, the navigator asked.

"Well —"

"I wouldn't mind having an assistant in the kitchen, little (Y/n) seems to know their food a lot," Rikido Sato, the head chef of the kitchen, said as he showed us a piece of doughnut. "I don't remember making some, and I know most of you can't cook or bake," he chuckled.

"Doughnut!" (Y/n) ran towards Chef Rikido and jumped up and down to grab the doughnut.

"Isn't (Y/n) too young to cook or handle kitchen stuff?" I asked.

Rikido chuckle and reply, "And aren't you too young to become our Captain, Prince Shoto?"

"I- fine, the wee lad/lassie can stay... I guess. But, if (Y/n) made any ruckus, we will leave them at the orphanage here at Winneka," I uttered.

I stared at the child and thought, 'Still pretty young to know about cooking.'.

"Prince Shoto, I promise I won't make any ruckus!" (Y/n) claimed as they bite into the doughnut. The crew surrounded (Y/n) and bomb them with question.

I backed away and caress my temple.

'Why am I doubting those sentence for some reason...'

I look over at Eijiro, and he just shrugged, "You're the Captain, Prince Shoto.".

I blankly stared at the child, and the crew already seems delighted with their presence.

(Y/n) noticed that I was looking at them. She smiled and waved at my direction. I sighed and went back to my office.

I stared at the sketch again and started to outline my plan.

'I know I'm getting closer and closer to capturing one...'

-

As the sun has rise, I got up and prepared for my day.

I went to the deck and saw how busy each of my crew. I saw little (Y/n) chatting with Ochaco.

(Y/n) noticed my presence and ran towards to my direction, "Good morning, Captain Shoto!".

"Well, look who's excited to see me in the morning," I sarcastically stated.

"And look who's excited to start their day," Eijiro snickered.

"Doughnut?" (Y/n) said as they held up the half bitten doughnut.

I blankly stared at (Y/n) and the doughnut that she is holding.

I didn't notice that their clothes looks like a dirty rug.

"Ochaco, bathe (Y/n) and both of you go shopping for the wee lad/lassie new clothes," I said as I handed them some Winneka currency.

"Aye, Captain! (Y/n) we're going shopping!" Ochaco excitedly said as she spun (Y/n) in the air.

"Captain! Someone wants to see you!"

I turned around and saw Chief Masaru's son and wife.

"Oy half-and-half!"

'Did he just called me half-and-half?'

I removed my hat and slightly bow at them, "What do I owe the pleasure?".

"My old man wants to give you this," he handed me a scroll.

I opened the scroll and blankly stared at it.

"You want your son to be a pirate?" I asked for clarification.

"No, this Old ha-," his mother smacked his head, which shock me a little.

"Now, now, who are you calling an old hag? Sorry, for that Captain Shoto, but yes, we would like you to recruit our son, Katsuki," she said with an excitement in her voice.

I cleared my throat and reply, "How can I say no to this?".

'And how can this day get better?'

"Thank you so much for accepting my son! Now, pay some respect to your higher-up!" her hands on her hips as she lectured his son.

"I didn't even ask for this!" Katsuki irritatedly said. His mother stared at him with flame in her eyes.

'Mother do get scary sometimes'

He rolled his eyes and said, "Captain Shoto, thank you for accepting me in your crew."

I gave them a sly smile, 'Two new recruits less than a week.'
