S2E2 - Shape Shifted
"It was kinda like a scent, but I couldn't tell who it was." Scott said to Stiles while they sat down on the bench.
"What if you can get him one-on-one? Would that help?" His best friend replied looking around him, trying to guess who the new werewolf was.
"Yeah." Scott nodded.
"Okay. I think I got an idea." Stiles told him before running towards Coach to ask him if Scott could switch with Danny's place for the day.
While the mischief kid was sitting back next to Scott with the goalkeeper's equipment, he received a tap on the chest. The young werewolf nodded his head in the direction from which he just came back. Coach had a huge grin on his face as he was watching Sasha. She was walking towards him. Stiles remained silent so that Scott could listen to their conversation.
"Hi Coach. You asked to see me?" The young woman questioned him in a trying to be warm tone.
"My team sucks without my magic girl. Now that you're back, I need you on the field." He replied cheerfully.
"I'm not gonna play." Sasha said. "To be honest, I don't like Lacrosse. I never did. I only played because of my brother." She added and Scott's heart clenched as he felt her grief even though her face was deadpan.
Finstock put his hand on the young woman's shoulder and gave it a little squeeze. He wasn't good with emotions so it was his way of saying that he was sorry for her loss and that he understood that she didn't want to play without him. He smiled sadly at her and Sasha gave him a thin smile in return.
Scott just wanted to get up and hug her, but Coach decided to start the practice. He began, as usual, to yell at his players and the young werewolf had no choice but to run towards the goal while Jackson decided to approach Sasha.
"SJ?" He asked and when she turned around, he pulled her close to him. He wanted to do that since he saw her yesterday.
Instantly her arms were around his waist and her face was buried in his chest while he was hugging her thigh. Sasha closed her eyes for a second and she let herself get lost in the familiarity of his embrace. Jackson was maybe an ass to most people but he had always been nice to her. She knew he wasn't as terrible as the others thought, he was kind, intelligent, loyal and so much more. They used to be really close.
"Didn't know you were friend with Matthew Daehler." Sasha said pulling out of the hug.
"I'm not. Just needed his camera." Jackson replied slightly outraged that she would believe he was friend with that moron. "It's good to see you." He added sincerely. Last time they saw each other, it was on Sebastian's funeral. The next day, she left for boarding school and told him she needed time away because it was too hard staying here without her brother. They stayed in touch and called each other from time to time.
"You too Jacks." She replied as sincerely as him.
The co-captain was about to say something but was interrupted by a screaming voice. "Whittemore!" Coach yelled when he saw him talking to Sasha. "Jones, get out of my field! You're distracting my players!"
For the first time in a while, Sasha chuckled. She always liked when Coach got upset and him chasing her from practice made her feel normal again, at least for a second.
"We gotta catch up soon. Bye SJ." Jackson said and quickly kissed her cheek then ran towards the other players who all watch their interaction with curiosity.
When he did that, Sasha was able to caught his scent and she understood that the particular smell in the classroom yesterday wasn't his. Jackson, even with the bite, wasn't a werewolf so there was someone else who was.
