Ayanokouji POV
"Thank you for your purchase!"
I nodded dully, in response to the clerk's contrasting enthusiasm, and exited the departmental store.
This location was relatively new to me, as well the neighbourhood. Not to mention, I have more or else gotten used to buying groceries for myself.
It was all a relatively new experience for me, living in the outside world by myself. The road map of this residential area of Tokyo has been memorized by my brain subconsciously, as I didn't face any difficulties reaching my new apartment, my new home, where I had been staying for the past few months.
It was a moderately decent house consisting of six floors, and the rent was also affordable.
My room was on the third floor. Even though there was a lift, I took the stairs every time to avoid any contact.I entered my house, shut the door and put my shopping bags on the table.
It was already evening, so I thought of making something for myself. With that thought in mind, I turned on the TV. There wasn't anything specific I wanted to watch, but having some noise in this empty house would be nice.
The volume was already set high, and the music of a highlights concert rang in my ears. It was the performance of a group of aspiring japanese idols, and I have been watching them more and more recently, even though they weren't my exact taste. Mostly because I was curious about them.
And also...
Ding Dong
I turned off the TV, and answered the door immediately.
"Ah, Kiyotaka-kun! I'm glad you are home!"
"Do you need something?" I asked the person, who was standing in front of my door.
"Well...I just wanted to ask if you are hungry? We were about to have some pizza and desert I just ordered so, we thought about inviting you too!"
I only stared at her beaming smile.
"I appreciate the gesture. But you really shouldn't be eating junk food too much. You will get-"
"Aw~ I know I know! It's not bad to have some once in a while right?"
"You were chugging down fried chicken and mochi just the previous day."
"Ack! You are just too observant Kiyotaka-kun! I am kind of glad you aren't my manager."
She briefly sighed and smiled again.
"Besides, I can't function properly-
".....without sweets. I am aware."
I could only sigh at her antics.
While part of the reason might be due to my curiosity, the main reason for my sudden interest in the entertainment industry of Japan is because of this girl who just invited me for dinner.
Hoshino Ai
The beginning of this abrupt relationship takes back a few months ago.
Flashback
After finishing my curriculum at the age of 15, I was given an extra course on communication and basic human interactions. It continued just for one more year, as I finally became allegeable enough to function as a proper human being in a society, at least on the outside.
I was then told, to live as an ordinary citizen of the country. To observe all the basic stuff regular people do practically, and learn them for myself . There wasn't a time limit or specific instructions, but apparently I had been given a package of limited edition freedom.
