- NOT HIM -

Following the sounds of crashes, clamors and gunshots, Liz hurriedly rushed to the center of the city a couple blocks away from the market where an ever growing crowd gathered around to observe New York's new potential foe.

She squeezed through all the people muttering apologies as she went. Her focus was shifting between the large screens all across the building that displayed a bright blue, almost glowing man across them and Peter as he approached 'it' with his hands raised in reason.

"I see you don't know what's happening to you. I can see you don't want to hurt anybody." Peter spoke to the man who was glowing a blue hue, seemingly unaware of what's going on and even frightened to find himself in such a predicament. "It's gonna be all right."

"I don't want them shooting at me anymore." Peter nodded as 'Sparkles', —Peter's new nickname for this guy— spoke through a wavering voice.

"They won't." Peter turned around and trailed his eyes over all the officers who had weapons raised at the man. "You guys, this is my buddy Max. I told you about Max. No one shoots at Max!"

"Max..." Liz looked over the screen muttering the name under her breath as growing suspicion coursed through her.

She couldn't be sure, but last time some type of odd unspecified creature appeared in town, it came from Oscorp. Max Dillon just so happened to be an employee there and Liz looked over him many times before another gunshot rang out and her shoulders jumped in surprise.

"No, no! Stop!" Peter yelled just before Max shot some form of electricity at the officer who fired the gun.

"Max!" Peter shot a web at his wrist and yanked. With no time to react, Peter was launched across the street and crashed right into a police car, the electricity traveling through his web and giving him a shock.

Peter groaned as he grasped his left wrist, the web shooter spitting out webs and sparks before it completely broke. Great.

His head turned swiftly to his right as he picked up on the sound of metal coming undone and one of the many huge screens started slipping from its hinges.

There was an officer directly under it, Peter quick to shoot a web that then attached to his side. He pulled him away, the man tumbling to the ground, but alive nonetheless.

"Spidey, Spidey, Spidey!" Liz was surrounded by hoots and hollers of their hero's name, the citizens of New York always so supportive until they were badmouthing him later.

That's not what bothered her though. As the screens that once showcased Max had now changed at the sounds of praise of Spiderman and displayed him instead, Liz was watching Max.

She'd never seen simmering rage quite like this and the crowd that was chanting Spidey's name in praise was also shooting insults and even profanities at the blue man.

"Shut up!" He roared back, Peter stepping a tiny bit closer.

"Stay with me, Max." He tried to reason, not liking the angry rise and fall of his chest as he balled his fists and huffed.
