Chapter Seven: everything is bigger in Texas

The next week we flew into Texas for our next show. I was listening to vampires everywhere as we walked around the airport. Thankfully there weren't any fans around. Which is why Riley dragged us to a gift shop. "Oh come on, it's Texas. Everything's bigger in Texas." She said, "well-" "shut up" Blair interrupted Tom who looked down in defeat. We walked in and saw hats, mugs, shirts all in reds and whites. "I hate this." I said as Jara dragged me to one end of the store showing jewelry. It was probably the most colorful section in this place. She looked at the jewelry as the others looked at random things. I grabbed a silver rose necklace as Tom appeared behind me. "It fits you." He said suddenly. I was stiff for a moment from the startle but loosened soon. "I'm not really into roses like that. I like Delilah's." I said walking off as Alohi walked to me with Max and Kiko. I took Max's leash and started walking to the tour bus. "Rory!" Tom yelled while jogging up to me with something in his hand. "What?" I questioned as he stood in front of me. "Here, I found a Delilah one." He said holding a silver Delilah necklace. I went to grab it but instead he moved closer to me. Very close. I could even smell his cologne. He put the necklace around my neck and backed up smiling. "Thanks." I said smiling slightly as we both walked towards the bus but there was suddenly flashing. I put my hand up since I didn't have my sunglasses. My vision was more blurry than ever now. I grabbed Tom's arm for guidance as he looked confused. "You okay?" He asked close to my ear since the paparazzi were now yelling at us. "I can see shit." I said as he nodded. Max barked mostly confused as to the sudden crowd and flashes. Tom grabbed my hand and started yelling and pushing past people. Mainly in German. At one point one of the paparazzi pushed Tom as well to get a better angle of me but that resulted in Tom getting pissed off. He pushed back trying to pull me closer to him but the paparazzi just ended up crowding us more. We couldn't move and didn't even have our security to help. Tom ended up pulling me closer to him and was holding on to me by my waist. Max was overwhelmed and was waiting to hear me give him a sign of attack since we trained him. Tom still looked pissed and just gave me his sunglasses. I could see a bit clearer now and Max decided he had finally had enough. Max was barking threateningly and bared his teeth as the paparazzi backed up a little. "Hey! Back it up!" An officer yelled as he and some more showed up. Tom held onto me tightly as the police shoved everyone back as the others ran to us. "Are you two okay?" Bill asked as Riley rushed and pulled my glasses from her book bag and handed it to me. I gave Tom his sunglasses while putting my glasses on. Tom didn't let go of me as me and Riley tried to calm Max down. "Where the hell were you guys?" Tom asked, still mad. "We were finishing up in the gift shop. Sorry." Jara said as she held Kiko who was barking profusely. "Ok. New rule. No more gift shops." I said as Hannah took pictures of the scene. "Seriously? Not now Hannah." Rain said as she took her camera. Hannah shrugged as we finally went to our tour bus with the help of Alohi. Who was now yelling at the security manager on the phone. I sat down in one of the booths sighing as everyone scattered. Tom sat across from me looking at me. "Are you okay?" He whispered. I looked at him confused. "Why are you whispering?" I asked, whispering. "Because I don't want to freak you out anymore than what happened earlier." He answered as I nodded. "I'll be fine." I said quietly as he nodded.

We were at a hotel getting ready for the show tomorrow as everyone slowly made their way to my room. "What do we do now?" Jara asked as she handed Georg Kiko. "We should go shopping!" "No!" Hannah spoke excitedly but was cut off by all of us, still tired from the airport. She pouted and slouched in her chair. I sat on my bed sighing as Riley ran into my room. "Turn on the tv. News!" She yelled as Rain did exactly as she said. "The famous band The Mintz and the famous German band Tokio Hotel just flew into Texas this morning for their second show tomorrow. But there are now rumors regarding Rory Mintz the vocalist for The Mintz and Tom Kaulitz the guitarist for Tokio Hotel. They were seen holding hands and the guitarist was seen holding the vocalist close to him as they were left alone with the Paparazzi with no security. Of course the scene escalated and one of the paparazzi men claimed Tom Kaulitz had gotten into a physical altercation with him just before the airport police showed up separating the two from the ambush. Now that they were seen like this fans believe they are a couple now. Another trending photo of the two didn't come from the paparazzi but from a small group of fans nearby and they took a photo of Tom gifting Rory a necklace. In the photo you can see the two being flirtatious with one another as he puts the necklace on her." The news reporter spoke as we all watched silently. I wasn't surprised this was gonna happen. It's not the only time. Riley once made news when people thought her and Justin Timberlake started to date, despite him being an adult and her being 16 at the time. "I think we should stay inside to be safe." I said as everyone either said yeah or nodded as the news continued to show pictures of me and Tom. From him putting the necklace on me to him holding me. I also didn't realize that at one point holding onto his shoulders since one of the paparazzi tried to push Max off of him. I turned the tv off and later back down.
