10th Inning, no outs, no one up, no men on base.
Score: 2 - 2

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cardinals at bat.

Don Grimmes steps up to home base. Waves the bat around whists he gets set, digging that back foot in.

Once the pitcher get the sign he winds up, the pitch- Don bunts at it! It rolls, he runs to first. The catcher picks up the ball, he snap throws to first, it gets away from the baseman. It rolls all the way to right field, Don runs to second, the right fielder makes a good throw but its a bit off target and the short stop has to go way to his right to grab it- So Don is safe at second from a throwing error.

And now Joe Barber walks up to the plate. He's a dangerous hitter.

Man on second, nobody out, 10th inning, score still 2 - 2

It takes Joe a while to get set, and I mean a while. He is constantly looking at the third base coach.

Anyway, once Joe gets set the pitcher calls time.
He wants a mound meeting with his catcher.
The pitch wanted to go over the signs again.

Once that is over and everything is in order, the pitcher gets set, the catcher takes his stance, the batter swings! It's a hard ground ball to the first baseman who handles it unassisted. As the runner moves to third.

That will bring up Bill White. That man on third is a king sized run for the Cardinals.

White gets set, the pitcher shakes his head "no" on two of the catcher's signs.
He likes the third one, he does his wind up, the ball is well smashed into left center.

Is it a home run? No, it hits the fence out there, the left fielder running too fast to catch it as the center fielder picks it up, he throws it to home but its to late as a run scores to end the ball game.

The Cardinals win it 3 - 2 over the Dodgers.
