YOU were definitely being followed.
Having many young siblings and raised in a household that explicitly taught the girls to be extra careful wherever they go especially at night, you had developed some kind on instinct that screamed out whenever danger was nearby. A tinge of regret swirled inside you, chiding you for deciding to walk home alone at night, for leaving your workbook at the gazebo park where you had been to after school for Chemistry revision session with Shinobu. Iguro-sensei might be your older sister's boyfriend, but that won't give you an exception to not turn in his assigned homework. You also had left your math homework sheet at the gazebo so the thought of angering not only Iguro-sensei but Shinazugawa-sensei as well had forced you to leave your comfort resident to go out in only sweatpants and hoodie on. Presently, you were already at the gate entrance of the park when you felt shivers running down your spine and the corner of your eyes caught movement between the parked cars across the street.
The street light wasn't too helpful in giving a better view of whoever was following you, with one of it didn't even blink out any light. You steadied your breath, trying to keep yourself calm and composed as you marched towards the gazebo, eyes occasionally glancing behind you. Thankfully for the working street lights on each side of the gazebo, you saw your workbook on the bench and quickly grabbed it. The sound of a twig snapped broke the silence. You froze like a deer caught in headlights.
You made a run for it.
Anyone smarter might have bolted first when they noticed they had a stalker in the first place, they would have left their workbook and ran for their safety. You knew that, aware of how stupid and brazen you were to still lingering around alone at night with a stalker in your heels, but you were also at risk of facing angry Iguro-sensei and Shinazugawa-sensei if you didn't get your homework done in time. So now, as you ducked into an alley after a sharp corner, you would still rather face this stalker of yours instead of your demon-like teachers. You did not want to get tied to water-rocket or thrown out of the window like what happened to Inosuke, who was either too idiotic or simply had no sense of danger to tick off two of the most scariest teachers in the academy (and he very much learnt nothing from those punishments).
Pressing your back against the wall, blending into the shadow, you held your breath at the sound of footsteps clacking getting louder every seconds. You watched your stalker walking passed by the alley, thick dark shadow casted over their figure so it was hard to make out their face structures. Their heels clacking loudly in the empty street, like taunting you to reveal yourself. Something shining caught your attention, and you saw your stalker had a gold fan in their hand, which was then swiped opened and used to fan themselves as they were heard letting out a sigh. Like they were disappointed you had managed to run off. You waited quietly in your hiding spot, not daring to move until the sounds of footsteps were gone. You let a few minutes of silence passed before let out a gasp, unaware that you had been holding your breath all this time.
