Separate For Now

The day came to an end and Izogie and Solana were now in their living room, arguing.

" SOLANA SHE IS JUST ANOTHER WARRIOR. WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS?"

"SHE WANTS YOU, THATS WHY. THEN,YOU KEEP TALKING TO HER AND LAUGHING WITH HER" she rolled her eyes, " YALL MIGHT AS WELL KISS WHILE YOUR AT IT."

"You know what, I can't."

" Neither can I, We are both warriors. This was never meant to work."

" Fine, we are done. "

" FINE." she said as tears formed in her eyes

Izogie walked into her room and sat on the bed. She'd never show how much this broke her heart but damn it , it was hard.

Solana's tears slowly fell and she decided to go back training. She needed some space and since it was night time no one would be there.

1 week later

Izogie had become cold and worked solely on getting the warriors ready for any war. She had been training hard herself, her muscles showing more than before. Her arms were more defined and her legs had grown some more muscle.

Solana on the other hand was worse she went back to being who she was before joining the Agojie, Mahvee. She had been wreaking havoc on their enemies and had killed over 100 men. People in town had spread the word that Mahvee was back. Since only Nanisca, Amenza,Izogie, and King Ghezo knew she was Mahvee. She would be careful to hide that identity from everyone else. She showed up to training every morning but at night, she hunted until her heart was content. Though it never would be, it wanted something else. Rather someone else. Though she was great at hiding that side, it was hard hiding the random cuts and bruises that weren't there the day before. This caused warriors to ask questions and eyes to watch. Including hers, the one her heart was longing for.

The two hadn't spoken except for training. They tried their best to ignore each other. It was working for now.

Nawi took this opportunity to throw herself at Izogie. The girl began to randomly pop up, follow her to the common bath, and even go as far to ask for private training sessions at her home. Izogie had stopped talking to the girl, she simply was over her antics. Nawi had let up a little but she wasnt giving up.

Nanisca and Amenza however, watched it all like a movie. Even now, Nanisca purposely put Solana, Izogie, and Nawi in a training group together accompanied by a couple men. One who took a liking to Solana.

Solana was watching the warriors train as a man walked up to her. He was a warrior too, chocolate dark skin, bright smile, with locs that stopped mid back. He was built and tall but, he wasn't her. Though she was glad to have the eye candy.

"You know, you only come across people as beautiful as you but so many times." his deep voice spoke

" So?" she never took her eyes off the warriors training

" You are an attractive woman, I am an attractive man. I would love to see you."

She finally looked in his eyes, "Sorry but no."

" I don't give up easily, Solana."

She rolled her eyes as he chuckled

" You don't have to act, you like what you see don't you."

She gave a soft smile before looking him up and down.

" I've seen better but you'll do."

He laughed and headed back to watch his men train.

Nanisca and Amenza shared a laugh watching the two interact but mostly because of Izogie reaction. She was watching the two and even looked the man up and down trying to size him.

"She could take him." Amenza laughed

" They need to get back together, just not yet. This is hilarious ."

" Who knew the two most ruthless,powerful, and feared warriors would be playing two can play that game."

Both women burst out into laughter.

Izogie was still watching the man. She wondered, well knew why he spoke to Solana. What she really wondered was Solana's response. She must've struck some sort of interest into him, she talked and smiled to him more than she would anyone else. Izogie's jaw clenched and anger coursed through her thinking of what could have transpired and what could happen. She quickly regained composure and continued with her training.

Solana on the other hand paid no mind and continued training.

Once the day was over, Solana headed home. She noticed the house was empty. Usually Izogie was there before her. She just shrugged her shoulders and went to her room. She tried to sleep but she knew she wouldn't until Izogie got back.

Instead of going home right away, Izogie went to a nearby waterfall just outside of Dahome. She sat and watched the waterfall. Her eyes had started a waterfall of their own and she covered her face finally letting her tears free. She couldn't hold it in anymore, She was falling apart as the days went on. She brought a jug of bourbon with her. She drunk it until the jug was empty. She soon retreated back home, stumbling inside the house her and Solana shared.
