The opulent mansion was adorned with luxurious decorations, dimly lit chandeliers and a grand ballroom filled with elegantly dressed guests.
Amongst that sea of people was Evanora who stood out like a sore thumb. She could feel the curious glances and eyes thrown her way probably wondering who she was or why she was here.
She found herself standing in the corner her eyes following Luca wherever he went. She was his responsibility as he brought her here but like an abandoned fowl here she stood alone why he mingles with his class of people.
She couldn't help but feel like he was embarrassed to be seen with her. Few moments she had caught him searching for her amongst the guests and when his eyes finds her,he turns around and continues whatever he was doing.
Evanora bite her lips anxiously waiting for the night to be over so she could go home and hide behind the comfort of her room.
Her eyes were still on Luca the entire time when she spotted the lady Vienna move to his clique where she seemed to fit perfectly.
They all welcomed her with smiles including Luca and for some reason it upset her. She couldn't ignore her sudden feeling of hatred for the lady.
Just like a light bulb was switched on in her head, her eyes widened when she realized where she heard that name. The fashion house!!
Could it be that it was hers?
'Obviously!'
My mind mocked her.
Luca took her to his girlfriend's fashion house. She scoffed feeling bitter at the sight of the lady.
"What's a princess doing standing here alone?"
Evanora jumped at the sound of someone speaking to her. She turned to her side and before her stood a man who looked to be in his early 30s.
He had this dark aura around him that alerted her. His eyes were blank, emotionless and looked sly.
He was a beauty to behold but looked dangerous.
He was dressed in a black tailored suit that fit him tightly. His hand tucked away in his pocket as he watched her.
"I am not a princess" She said taking a step back from him. Her eyes searched the crowd for Luca but he was nowhere to be found.
"No need to be so alert princess. I am not here to hurt you Evanora I just want to talk" He said raising his hands in mock surrender.
Evanora looked at him fear still rising in her system.
"How do you know my name?" She asked.
He smiled at her "Luca mentioned you to me" he replied.
So he is a friend of Luca then?
"Okay" she nodded trying to calm her racing heart down.
"I see he left you here alone in a sea of horny men" he said handing her a glass of whiskey which she took and sipping his in the process.
Something about him was suspicious and unsettling to her but she just took it to be her paranoia.
"He didn't leave me alone" She replied taking a sip of the drink. It's bitter taste left her mouth hot but it was what she needed after being abandoned.
"I see" he chuckled "But it doesn't seem to look that way. Don't fright I am sure he is with Vienna they're quite sneaky like kids" He chuckled watching her.
Evanora felt bile rise in her throat she cleared her throat and turned to him trying to sound uninterested.
"Who is she to him?" She asked
