"Her mind is a diamond. Cold and hard and brilliant"

Evanora POV

*~*

The warm water cascading down my body could do little to quench the fire in my heart. I could hold my breath under this water for a long time and I still won't feel a thing.

It's like I am nub to everything. To every emotion that was once familiar to me.

Now all I feel is this dark empty pit and raging fire in my chest.

I turned off the shower and walked towards the mirror wiping the foggy screen with my palm.

A stranger stared back at me in the mirror.

Her hair was short and ebony. New scars littered her body but at least this time they were battle wounds which she wore with pride.

I guess that girl is the new me now.

Fernando said changing my hair color was important so that anyone of Luca spies will not be able to recognize me but I'd be a fool if I don't know that the only reason he wanted me to dye my hair black was because of my mother.

I know he once loved her and still sees me in her. I don't want to be a replica of a woman I didn't get the chance to know.

As a way of revolting I cut the hair short. Now its just close to my neck as a bob.

I always wear contacts whenever I leave the house just to be safe.

Wiping my body clean I left my room dressed in a black tight leggings and a black sports bra. My hair tied in a rough bun on my hair. Tiny fringes falling on my face.

The house was still quiet signaling no one was awake yet. Which for me is the best period. I hate having to look at any of their faces.

I wasn't scared or intimated or anything. In fact I do the intimidating but they always just seem to stare or whisper when I pass__Annoying.

I left the house jogging down the forest path,my earpiece in my ear as the soft beats of Traitor by Olivia Rodrigo plays. Foggy dew covered the front of the road.

Jogging before starting my day helps me reign in my anger and just control my day. The only time I didn't get to jog I ended up punching someone too hard they began bleeding from their nostrils.

Sweat was rolling down my face as I increased my pace. I have been jogging for a few minutes when it felt like someone was following me.

I stopped and cut off the music playing and just listened to the silence.

The breaking of branches could be heard but I didn't turn.

Closer. I could feel someone getting closer.

Before I could be grabbed I turned around swigging a punch so fast that it landed on their nose with a crack.

He groaned and crouched covering his nose.

"Who sent you?!" I yelled angry.

He raised a hand and stood up removing his hand from his now bleeding nose.

"Fernando? What the hell was that?! And what are you doing here?" I glared at him riled up.

"Fuck! Princess you sure are good with your fists. I came out to run and I saw you so I decided to follow you" He chuckled touching his broken nose.

I don't regret it one bit.

"So why were you creeping behind me like a freak?" I crossed my arms staring at him.
