I don't know why I was afraid of what he was going to ask.
But I was. I could feel the awkward atmosphere creeping back.
"Yeah sure of course."
My heart was beating twice as fast. I mean the whole time we were talking he never asked me that question, why now?
" Okay, I know it's none of my business but... do you have a boyfriend?"
I didn't know how to feel. Why this question? And asking it now?
"Urmm no... Still single!," I said, trying to make the mood less awkward. I waited for his reaction, nervously. Would he think I'm a loser?
HARRY'S POV
I have to ask her. I'm too curious. Is she seeing someone?
I mean she probably is. She's so beautiful, any guy would be so so lucky to have her. But it's worth a shot right?
" I know it's none of mt business but... Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Urmm no... Still single!"
You will not believe how happy I was to hear those words coming out of her mouth.
But what's the difference?
I can never be with her, I'm dating her best friend...
SAMANTHA'S POV
I saw a glimpse of happiness in his eyes.
Wait.
Why would he be happy?
You're just imagining things, Sam.
He cleared his throat and said" Oh okay, that's good."
WOAH WAIT.
Did he just say "that's good"???
Was I imagining this?
I looked at the clock on his table: 6:45pm
Shit.
"Oh crap. I forgot I have to meet Kathy at 7. Today was productive." I said, sarcastically.
He giggled.
That giggle is going to be the death of me I swear.
" Alright then, same time tomorrow?" he smiled, giving me a cheeky grin.
Am I dreaming?
"Urm sure! See ya tomorrow then!", I said walking out of the house.
I was the happiest person on earth.
On the way to the lake, I kept repeating in my head: He's so sweet.
Until I reached the lake and saw Kathy, back facing me, just staring at the lake. And I thought:
Well, I can't think about Harry like that can I?
