Screw it.

Chapter 16.

"Urmm.. Nothing much... We just hung out", I said. From the rear mirror I could see Harry smirking. I just hoped Kathy didn't see that.

"That's nice, damn I just wished I could have been there." Kathy said, intertwining her fingers with Harry's. Harry didn't move at all, his eyes flickered to the mirror to give me a assuring look. I smiled weakly, I suddenly felt a pang of jealousy hit me right in the face, I just couldn't handle seeing Kathy with him. The whole car ride was silent, Kathy trying to snuggle up to Harry. Once in a while, Harry would send me a smile or a wink through the mirror. I just wanted to grab his face and kiss him, but I couldn't. At least not right now. Harry pulled into the carpark opposite the diner and we all got out and walked towards it.

When we walked in we saw Phoebe, the waitress that worked there. We know each other since we always go there. "Harry, Samantha! How are you? And who is this beautiful young lady?" Phoebe said. Kathy blushed. " Hi I'm Kathy, Harry's girlfriend." I cringed, I just wished I would be able to say that one day. "Aww that's sweet! Right this way, let me show you to your table.", Phoebe said. Harry and Kathy walked hand in hand to the booth while I trailed behind them. I could tell Harry wasn't enjoying this, but we had to keep this up if we wanted the plan to work. We all took our seats: Harry and Kathy on one side and I was on the other. We ordered the usual but Kathy on the other hand ordered Fish N Chips. While we were waiting for our food, Kathy looked around and said, "Soooo, how did you guys find this place?" she said, scanning the place. " We came here before we went to my house to discuss on the project." Harry said. Kathy nodded and slid her hand around Harry's waist. 

This was making me feel so uncomfortable. Harry looked uncomfortable too. Just when Kathy wanted to pull him in for a kiss, the food arrived. "Thank god", I muttered to myself. I heard harry chuckle. "What's so funny?", Kathy said. "No, it's nothing." Harry said, smiling at me. We began to dig into our food. "How's the food Kate?" I asked. She gave me a thumbs up, her eyes never leaving the plate. We started talking after a while, and I couldn't help but smile, I finally got my best friend back. But I still couldn't get that feeling off guilt off me. I mean I'm secretly seeing her boyfriend behind her back! But I loved Harry and he loved me, nothing could come between us, well except Kathy of course. "I'm just gonna go to the bathroom, I'll be right back." Harry said, getting up from his seat. Kathy suddenly cleared her throat. "Sam are you and Harry gonna hang out after this?" "I'm not sure, why?" I asked. "I just... I just thought... Could you maybe.. Give us some you know... alone time? Harry and I haven't really been hanging out lately and I really want to make up for he time, is that okay?" I really didn't want to, but I had no choice. " Sure Kate, anything.", I said, sending her a weak smile. "Thanks Sam, you're the best. We can meet at the usual place at maybe 7 tonight?" I nodded in agreement. Harry came back soon after and we all finished our meal. Harry paid for everything AGAIN. Kathy and I swore we would pay him back later.

When we were walking back to the car, Kathy nudged me and then I realized what she meant. "Guys, I forgot my parents are coming this Sunday and the house is a mess, I should probably go first, I'll see ya guys tomorrow." I said, giving Kathy a hug. Harry pouted but it soon disappeared when I gave him a hug. "I'll see you tomorrow" he whispered into my ear. I blushed and tried to cover it up. They all got into the car and I decided to walk home. With one last wave, I turned around and started my way back home. I just wondered what Kathy and Harry were gonna do.

HARRY'SPOV

I didn't want Sam to leave. I knew what she said was a lie because she's the cleanest person I've ever met. I was so gonna get her back. Kathy and I got into the car and we drove to my house. In 2 minutes we were already there and both of us got out. We went into my house and I started calling for my mom. "Mum? You here?" No answer. She's probably still at work. Kathy and I went into my room and I shut the door. She plopped herself onto the bed, I followed and sat next to her.

 " So what do you wanna do now?" She said her hand intertwining with mine. She shifted closer to me and placed the other hand on my thigh. I knew where she was going with this. "Kate can we not do this now? Can we just talk? Like where you have been this couple of days?" "Does it matter? I'm here now." She said. She moved closer to me, leaning in to give me a kiss. I don't know what I was thinking, because I didn't pull away. In a second, her lips were pressed against mine and our tongues were moving in sync. I then realized what I was doing, I was kissing Kathy. Even though she was my 'girlfriend', I couldn't do that to Kathy. I pushed Kathy away and said, "Kathy stop!" "What is wrong with you Harry?? Why are you so distant lately??" She said. "Me? Distant? Wow you are the one who has been going ghost lately!" "Well I'm here now right!" She screamed. "I'm sorry Kathy, I don't think this relationship is going to work." I said frankly. Her eyes softened and her eyes started to fill with tears. "What?" "You heard me" I said. "Fine Styles. Fuck you we are done!" She yelled walking out of my room and slamming the door. I dropped onto my bed with my head in my hands. I felt a huge weight lift off from my shoulders, until I realized What I just did, I broke up with Kathy. I ruined the plan. "Fuck." I said.
