I'm Sorry

They didn't exchange words. At times like that, the look in the lover's eyes was enough for the other to understand what they wanted. It was not something that they had done too many times, but once was enough for them. They knew what it felt like to be held in each other's arms, to moan each other's name in their ears, to bite their neck and turn fierce with the fresh, red mark they left. They knew all those feelings. They knew the connection they made when their lips touched was divine. The embers that flew up their fingertips when their hands intertwined were sacred. These moments, each and every one of them, were precious.

Percy, for one, knew how much it pained when Jason would dig his fingers in Percy's back. What he didn't know till now, however, was the new burning sensation as blood oozed out around the places Jason had clawed at. But Percy revered in it. That moment, everything that Jason did was accepted by him as if his only life-long goal was to pleasure the boy that screamed his name as Percy licked his chest.

It was terrifying how beautiful it was.

Jason could have spent nights on end with men and women he knew and didn't, but he wouldn't have been able to get even a tinge of the desire he felt with Percy. Jason knew the way his back arched and his whole body trembled under Percy's touch. Every single gesture Percy made was rougher, more demanding than it had been last night.

Everything was better.

Was this how making out on a couch felt? Was it always so much wilder and more passionate?

Percy had grasped Jason's hand and pulled him into the living room, not that he had to try hard, since Jason obliged without complaining. Percy loved how the soft pink blush Jason's cheeks once possessed had now turned bright rosy. So, he had thrown Jason roughly on the couch, removing his T-shirt and then his own. He had begun with a kiss, but he loved how all of it was turning rougher, deeper, lovelier.

Jason kissed Percy over and over, licking his lips, clashing their teeth, biting his tongue. Percy held Jason, glad to be at the receiving end. He told Jason that he loved him, said how much he had wanted this to happen sooner, how he, if he had known, would have broken up with Annabeth way before.

Jason didn't understand why his heart chose that moment to let out all the frustration he had held for years. Tears burst out of his eyes, and a loud sob left his mouth. He clutched Percy tight above him – all of Percy's weight now pressed over him. Percy broke free, though, concern flooding his flushed face.

"Jason? Darling?" he said in a low whisper. Have I done something wrong?

"P-Percy, I'm sorry," Jason said between sobs. His voice was drier and huskier, but his eyes were watering, tears streaming down his gorgeous face. It did not even take a minute for the white of his eyes to turn bloodshot. "I'm sorry for everything. I m-made you break-up with... with her. I'm so sorry. Please, Percy, ple-please forgive me, won't you?"

Percy consoled Jason, told him that it was not his fault, that Percy felt boundless after breaking free from Annabeth's grasp. He told Jason how he loved him so, so much, how he wanted to spend every second of his life with Jason. How everything now had a meaning since Jason was there with him.

Jason shivered at the last line, as if it had suddenly turned the whole environment cold and hostile.

"Jason, love, why don't we sleep off the night?" Percy said. He knew that Jason was exhausted and Percy was suddenly hit with the realization that he was too.

Jason cried louder. He got up too, and only clutched Percy tighter, digging his nails deeper than ever before. Percy let him cry. He knew Jason was fragile, and was trying his best to stay in one-piece. But Percy couldn't help hold back the tear that came rolling down his cheek. The loss of Annabeth smacked him like a wrecking ball. Neither could he hold back the sniffle that left his mouth.

They cried together, in each other's arms. They had come to mean the world to each other. Was this how they were now supposed to spend their lives? One with the guilt of breaking someone, other with the guilt of being the reason for it.

Jason lifted his head from Percy's shoulder and looked at Percy in the eye, and then dropped his gaze once again when he couldn't find the courage in him. He even unwrapped his hands from Percy's waist and distanced himself. His skin stuck to Percy when he let go from all the sweat, and he was rejoiced with the thought that they now had the possibility to stay like that with each other, linked to each other forever. Yet, he knew that detaching himself from Percy was the best decision he could makes before starting the conversation he was about to.

"Perc? Can you get back with her?" Jason asked.

Percy looked at him in disbelief. He was not going to accept this when he had risked a relationship with a girl who he thought was the love of his life for years. "Jason? Are you- are you kidding me? Are you for real?"

Jason shook his head helplessly, and a strand of his hair brushed Percy's forehead. He shivered at the touch. "I just... don't know, Percy. I don't know if we can, should do this."

"What do you mean, Jason? Honey, listen to me. I love you. You and no one else. I can't even imagine leaving you."

"Percy... I'm sorry," Jason said and sighed. "I-I can't do this."

"No!" Percy croaked and his voice cracked. "Jason, you can't do this to me! To us!" Tears rolled down Percy's cheeks faster and faster – they didn't seem to stop.
