Rab Ki Dua

Sometimes dreams accomplish in such a manner that we do not know exactly how we should absorb the varied set of feelings that get generated as a result of those tough times transforming into sweet moments of life to live by in future. Waiting impatiently to witness the happiness you always wished for to live with someone special and then eventually being able to become a part of that very reality was exactly what Vihaan and Naina experienced in these moments being spent together. A dream they had weaved had actualized itself on grounds of reality and it took Vihaan some time to let that feeling sink in completely sitting on the couch reading the book while stealing glances at his wife and daughter.

Morning sun shone brighter than usual for Vihaan that day when he woke up with his eyes all blazed with the sun rays falling over his face through the window. He had dozed off on the couch itself while reading the book. It was 7:00 AM when he checked that Siya and her mumma were still asleep, so he had enough time to freshen up and get ready in time. He quickly got dressed and very silently moved out of the room to have breakfast and get back as soon he can to ensure that Siya do not begin to cry in morning itself.
Aditi and Sunaina had cooked stuffed parathas for everyone along with mint - coriander chutney. Almost everyone was up and were being awaited to join at the table to begin breakfast while Yash and Sharad had been already done with it and were having their morning tea in living area adjacent to dining area. Aditi noticed Naina wasn't up yet while Vihaan was at the table serving himself, she still wasn't done with the episode of Naina getting unconscious all of a sudden and doctor being rushed to Shukla's home at the last moment. Before she could speak Vihaan's father's cousin sister i.e., Madhu Bua ji and Tai ji came in, that made Aditi dismiss the idea of bringing it up with Vihaan who was eating breakfast in a hurry as if he's about to miss his train. His Tai ji interrupted him and asked about Naina as she was missing from the scene which was an unusual case. Bua ji who wasn't very fond of Naina tried to be a true vamp to her nature by picking up a point here over it and Vaani literally seethed at the way she was portraying everything against Naina by unnecessarily bringing in things from past where Naina wasn't even to be blamed for. No wonder everyone disliked the woman but she was younger sister of Sharad even if cousin she was dear to him, so everyone respected her for his sake which always allowed her to exploit Sharad's love by trying to bring down Aditi earlier and now Naina. Vaani couldn't take it and started to move from tableafter replying back to her bua, asking Sunaina to put some food for Naina in a plate as she'll go and have it with her bhabhi upstairs only.

Right before she could move, Naina was getting downstairs and had overhead the conversation among bua ji and Vaani regarding her. She came quietly and greeted everyone with a smile on her face irrespective of the fact that she was in pain. Vaani saw it all written over her face. Anyone who knew her well could make out easily by having a look at her face that moment howsoever she tried masking it up. She went to the kitchen counter and sterilized two bottles and then filled one with Luke warm milk and other with normal water.
"Vaani wo Siya kabhi bhi jag sakti hai, tum please uski bottle's le jaogi kya to feed her??", asked Naina looking at Vaani with two bottles in her hand.

"Haan bhabhi, mujhe de do Mai le jaungi aur usey feed bhi Kara dungi..waise bhi mai upar hi jaa rahi thi Shivi ko lekar, yahan garmi bahut lag rahi hai", replied Vaani taking bottle's from Naina's hand and giving a look to bua ji.

Finally, Aditi took a sigh of relief along with Tai ji and Naina when Vaani left the dining area literally tossing her feet on the ground. Vihaan too quietly escaped before he came into bua Ji's radar for some urgent work but not before eyeing his girl to check if she's okay being there or not. Sunaina was aware of bua ji and her tiff with the ladies of the Shukla family but she witnessed it today with her eyes when she didn't let her own daughter Naina even have her breakfast without a single taunt. Today she crossed all her limits the moment she dragged Siya into her nonsensical rants. Naina was very calmly sitting and having her breakfast after serving Tai ji, Aditi and Sunaina as Bua ji was already done with it.
Bua ji intentionally brought in the topic of adoption and then started talking about how blood relations are different from such adopted one's and truth is truth no one can deny it with such grand celebrations. Naina gulped it down as Aditi sat by her side holding her hand but then she went overboard.
"Pata nahi kisko mili thi aur kahan kis haal mein mili thi. Ye bhi toh nahi pata kiska paap hai ya kiski majburi. Uthake khandaan ka naam de Diya aur upar se Sharad bhaiya ne saare samaj ko bula liya us ladki ke birthday ke function mein. Pata bhi hai kaisi kaisi baatein kar rahe the log. Kal ko ye bachhe aayenge Ghar mein inko kya bataoge us ladki ke baare mein", said Bua ji with no regret in her voice as if she had well thought and then delivered every word to pierce Naina's heart intentionally to hurt her.
