The McCall-Hale Pack left the library, totally forgetting why they were even there to begin with, and headed for Derek's loft. They stopped by Scott's house first though because his mom needed help patching up a hole in the wall from when Scott accidentally threw his alarm clock in his sleep. So they didn't notice the Mercury Pack going in the same direction as Derek's loft until they got there and immediately noticed a few cars with the Mercury Pack's symbol on them parked at the loft right next to Derek's.

In Stiles' defense, he forgot to check the address when he first purchased the loft and just hoped Derek had moved at some point. Of course, all of this was unbeknownst to the McCall-Hale Pack who had yet to uncover the new alpha's identity.

"Are they seriously living right next to us?! Are they trying to start a war?", Malia growled. "Relax, they probably didn't know.", Lydia replied. Malia huffed and rolled her eyes. She and Lydia had always had this tension between them ever since Malia and Stiles broke up and Lydia tried to flirt with him, only to be shot down as he said he no longer saw her that way.

The pack filed out of the car and into Derek's loft, thankful that at least the loft was soundproof so the new neighbors wouldn't hear them. Unfortunately, that means THEY also couldn't hear the new neighbors.

Derek stayed by the window, watching the other loft and noting when one of them - a blonde girl - suddenly left. "So, new alpha, what do we think about them? Anyone have any theories or new information they gathered at the library that they forgot to mention?", Scott asked. "He's a coward.", Jackson grunted. "We don't know that they're a he. And also, they might not be a coward, maybe they just think lowly of us.", Kira said.

"If what the ginger one said about us being well known was true, shouldn't that mean they're at least a little threatened by us?", Liam asked. "Maybe they're not that impressed we took down the ghost riders. I mean, for all we know, they've done worse. What else explains all the supernatural creatures of Pennsylvania and more being scared into submission by them?", Lydia offered. "Look, they can't be all that.", Scott started. "Their alpha's not even a true alpha."

"How do you know that, though, what if they are?", Danny asked. "Because that probably would be one of the rumors going around. Or one of those creepy twins would've bragged about it.", Scott answered. "We're not the creepy twins of this pack, are we?", Ethan asked.

Ignoring him, Scott continued. "Besides, even if they were a true alpha, there's only one of them. And we've taken down an entire pack of alphas before.", Scott said. "True. But so have they.", Lydia retorted. "Allegedly.", Jackson grumbled.

"Derek, help me out here.", Scott sighed. Derek looked over at his pack. He hesitated a moment and then spoke. "I can't say much, but there IS something off about that alpha. They seem... I don't know. I just know that something's telling me we should look into them as much as and as soon as possible. Something's not right.", Derek said.

Sabrina skipped home, happy with her purchases. As she neared the loft, she heard a growl from behind her. She turned around and searched but couldn't find the source of the growl. Warily, she walked the rest of the way back and locked the door behind her quickly. "Something wrong?", Merlin asked. "Oh! No, nothing. I just thought I heard something is all. Must've been a fluke.", she said. "Or maybe it was your conscience telling you to help us with translations.", Syd joked. "Ha ha, very funny. How far've you guys gotten?". "We narrowed it down to about 60 magical languages.", Richie grumbled from his place on the floor, face down. "So, not far...", Sabrina sighed. "Actually, we started off with about 80, so... it's progress.", Ian said.

"Where's Sti?", the blonde asked. "Hey! 'Brina, come here for a sec!", Stiles hollered from another room. "Never mind.", she said.

Sabrina walked into the room - a gym - to find her alpha laying down on the treadmill with a grimoire in hands. "Y'know those things are supposed to be used for exercise?", Sabrina quipped. Stiles snorted and waved her over. "I found a potion you might like and I'm pretty sure you already have the ingredients for it.", the alpha spark said. "What is it?", 'Brina asked. "It'll temporarily allow you to breathe underwater. I know you miss your morning swims so I figure I can make it up to you by helping you make these so once you get back to your morning swims, they're 10 times better!", Stiles exclaimed. "Sti... it's not your fault I'm missing out on them. You didn't know we'd be here this long. We all thought it'd be a quick in and out ordeal. Who knew the weapon would be this well hidden?", she laughed.

"I should've seen it coming. I mean, it's Beacon Hills! Plus, I don't exactly have the best luck.", Stiles said. "Well. Nothing we can do now. But, thank you. This is amazing, you're the best alpha ever!", she squealed, hugging him tight and then running off to set up her potions table.

"I hope so.", Stiles muttered to himself. Ever since becoming an alpha, Stiles was terrified he'd mess it up. He didn't want to be a bad alpha like Scott, who was too concerned about ugh himself to worry about his pack members, or like Derek, who was negligent and let Scott do whatever he wanted. Stiles wanted to be the best alpha he could to his new pack. He just hoped the best he could be wasn't downright shoddy or anything like his previous alphas.

Speaking of, it was a good thing he had Syd, Merlin, and 'Brina to cast spells to keep others from detecting their presence. He can't imagine what he would do if his old alphas could hear them or smell Stiles' familiar scent. Technically, he could do all that himself, but it helped to have extra hands.

Little did they know that Scott and Derek were currently at Deaton's vet clinic, convincing the older druid to help them take down that very spell. Derek didn't trust this new alpha and he wanted to be able to sense him coming.

"Can you do it?", Scott asked. "I can try but they're using very powerful magic. If I had to guess, I'd say it took multiple spell-casters.", Deaton answered. "What if we got you some help?", Derek asked. "Unless you're hiding a powerful witch in your back pocket, I don't think you're going to be able to find another person powerful enough to help with this. But if I can draw from the Nemeton, I might be able to do it myself. Just barely.", Deaton answered. "Great. I guess we'll help find the Nemeton then.", Scott replied.

They were going to break this spell no matter what it took. Derek needed to know what was up with that alpha!
