"At least I got to protect you one last time..."

Those were his last words, weren't they? That blast should've then tore him to shreds, not even leaving much of a body for anyone to find. So why did he feel in pain still? If he was dead, shouldn't his pain and suffering be over? More importantly, why didn't he feel like he was dead?

Scorpio managed to open his eyes with a lot of effort. After blinking a few times to clear his vision, he took in his surroundings from where he laid on the ground. He was somewhere near where he had intercepted that blast. The force of it hitting him must've thrown him away to this place.

There was something much more important to consider though. He was... alive? But how exactly was that? That thing should've killed him. How did he survive it? There should be no way anyone could physically survive a blow like that. Especially in his already weakened state.

Not that it mattered that much. The poison in his body should kill him before long too. Though, strangely he didn't feel any pain associated with that any more. Did the poison somehow leave his system? Did the blast destroy its ability to continue inside his body? Only time would tell. If he suddenly crumpled over and died that would answer his question.

Either way, Scorpio was alive at this moment in time. What the hell did he do now? He slowly sat up, wincing as pain shot through his body. If Don Armage found out he lived, would he be hunted down?

He should hide for now. He couldn't defend himself if anyone attacked him. Scorpio needed to recover a bit before he could decide what to do. And also to see if he would even recover and not just die in a little while. So, he stood up and went looking for a hidden place to take up residence in for the time being.

...

It had been a week. He was still alive. The poison was gone then. It would've long since killed him otherwise. It was a miracle. What had happened to cause this though? Would he ever be able to explain just how he managed to basically cheat death two times there?

Scorpio was still hiding on Earth. He didn't know what to do or where to go. He was still worried that Jark Matter was going to find out he lived and be after his life. He needed to keep a very low profile until he could find a way to stand a chance in a fight. Now that he had lost his power from taking in the poison that was going to kill Stinger, he was quite weak.

He didn't exactly know how to use this body of his anymore. He had been in that other form for so long that being back like this felt wrong. That wasn't his only issue though. He had no weapon to defend himself with. Not to mention he was far from recovered from his near death experience. He was an easy target to pick off if they played their cards right.

There was another pressing matter at hand besides just Jark Matter as well. Would he be welcomed by the Kyurangers if they met again? Would he still be seen as an enemy? There were so many possibilities. If he ran into them and Stinger wasn't there, would he have any chance at not being attacked by them? Sure he had saved them in the end but, did that mean they'd trust him suddenly being alive?

He did want to see Stinger again though. Make amends for all the hurt he had caused the poor kid. How could he have done all of that to his own brother...? Remembering the monster he had become disgusted him. He desperately at least needed to give a formal apology to Stinger. The kid deserved it after everything. It would be much better than that attempt he had made on his deathbed before. There were so many things Scorpio still wanted to tell Stinger. Would he ever find the chance to do it though?

Scorpio had taken to simply waiting for an opportunity to arise for him to be able to meet up with Stinger again. For now, he still waited in the little place he had found and made his new home. Today was another day where he sat and pondered all his life choices thus far and wished he could go back and change everything.
