Rescue Gone Wrong

Another day, another mission. There was a distress call from a town and so off they went. The group chosen was Lucky, Naga, Stinger, and Garu. This mission didn't seem like it needed too many to start off with. They were mostly going to scout out the situation.

When they arrived at the location, the four of them split up into two groups. They wanted to cover more ground. Lucky and Garu went together while Stinger and Naga went another way. They all promised to call if they saw anything strange.

Stinger and Naga were walking toward the outskirts of the town. Looking for any signs that someone entered it by force. It mostly seemed peaceful, which was very strange.

"Is this another fake signal?" Naga asked. "There doesn't seem to be anything wrong here."

"If it is fake... then what are they trying to do instead...?" Stinger questioned in reply.

They got an answer very shortly after. Shots were fired at the two of them. Both dodged in time to avoid getting hit. They faced the attacker.

Stinger felt a sense of dread as he realized just who was attacking them. "You..."

"That's... the assassin that's been after Scorpio, isn't it...?" Naga asked quietly.

Stinger nodded. This was not the enemy they wanted to run into right now. Both Kyurangers were on high alert as the assassin started to approach.

Stinger tried to call for help, but the assassin hit him before he could make the call. Naga ended up in the same boat. Neither was going to get a chance to call for help. They were on their own.

Indavers surrounded them. Stinger and Naga made eye contact and nodded to each other. They quickly transformed and rushed into battle.

The assassin wasn't sitting out and letting the indavers do the work for them. They were targeting Stinger. Stinger was struggling to fend them off in-between the hoard of indavers attacking him as well. He couldn't keep an eye on them for long. Too much was happening at once.

And then, a splitting pain shot through his head and everything went black.

"Guys! Bad news! Stinger's been captured by Jark Matter!"

That was not the news everyone back at the ship wanted to hear.

"Do we have a motive?" Champ questioned, "Or was this a random attack?"

No one seemed to want to answer the question. That made the unease in everyone grow. Especially in a certain someone.

Scorpio had his hands clenched into fists. How dare they! How dare they hurt Stinger! They were going to-

"The assailant was... the assassin that's been after Scorpio. We can only assume they're going to use Stinger to try something."

No... not them. Anyone but them. Stinger was in the hands of that assassin... This was horrible.

Scorpio tried to remain calm as the discussion of a rescue mission began. He wasn't paying much attention to what was being said. His mind was racing.

A hand was placed on his shoulder. "You good?"

Scorpio glanced over at who had spoken. Champ was beside him.

"I don't know..." Scorpio admitted.

"We'll get him back. Don't worry too much."

Scorpio wasn't sure about that, but nodded. He tuned in to the other conversation.

"Well, we definitely can't let Scorpio be part of the team. That's exactly what they want."
