It had been a ride getting used to the way the Kyurangers acted. Scorpio had only been with them for a little less than a month at this point. There were a lot of things that still confused him about these people and he was certain they were all equally confused about him as well.
His wounds were finally healed enough that there was talk of him finally getting to help. Scorpio was ready to try and do what he could. He knew not everyone still necessarily liked him here. He would need to work hard and prove he wasn't an enemy and would in fact help them defeat Don Armage.
Currently it was not long past morning. Stinger had gone to the bridge and taken a seat to work on some sort of sewing project. Scorpio tended to stay nearby his brother, if only to make sure no one could get worried about where he could be on the ship. He didn't like that he wasn't very trusted, but understood the hesitance.
A few of the others were also around the area. Everyone was mostly doing their own thing, not paying each other much attention other than to greet them. A few of them sent hesitant glances in Scorpio's direction.
"What are you making exactly?" Scorpio decided he had enough of the silence. Stinger often didn't talk much throughout the day.
"Kotaro asked me to fix this for him. He brought it with him from Earth." Stinger replied, his eyes trained on where he was patching up a hole on the stuffed creature.
"The kid seems to have taken a liking to you more than any of the others here." Scorpio commented. He had noticed how often Kotaro hung around Stinger compared to the others since he was always nearby as well.
"Yeah. Lucky said he thinks of me like his older brother."
"Do you like that?"
"It's... weird being that to someone."
"You're doing better at being an older brother than I ever did..." Scorpio went silent as he took in that realization. At least Stinger didn't follow in his footsteps. He stayed the way he should have all these years.
"That's not true." Stinger stopped his work to look at him, "I... always admired you. You were the one I thought of when I struggled to interact with Kotaro. Before any of this happened, I couldn't have asked for a better brother."
"Is that so..." Scorpio hadn't been expecting to be told that. He assumed Stinger would always resent how he tried to raise him but, apparently he had been mistaken.
They paused their conversation as Shou Ronpo entered the room. He seemed like he had a purpose with the way he walked. The remaining Kyurangers who were not already in the room soon joined them.
"Alright. I have a new mission for you all." Shou Ronpo began, "There is a planet in the Tadpole galaxy that we've picked up possible data of a kyutama existing on it. It is worth checking out to see if one is there."
There were some conversations between everyone as they discussed this new information. No one seemed to be opposed to the idea of going to check out the place.
"Then let's see who shall be going." The commander pulled out the roulette wheel and placed it on the table.
Stinger got up and went to go see. Scorpio stood behind him. He didn't quite get this system of choosing the ones for missions but if it worked for them who was he to complain?
Shou Ronpo spun the wheel and out came five kyutamas. Lucky, Tsurugi, Champ, Stinger, and... an empty kyutama?
"Commander, that kyutama is..." Raptor was the first to point it out.
"Don't tell me..." Stinger spoke up, all eyes training on him, "Is that your way of including Scorpio in the chances?"
Shou Ronpo gave him a thumbs up, "Yes."
