chapter 4

The siege of Karak eight peaks begins. Queek has been confirmed to be inside the fortress. This means that they must be cautious.

Luckily enough. The distance from home makes getting supplies to the siege easy.

With Karak eight peaks recently taken from greenskins, the Skaven haven't been able to completely dig in yet. This allows the attackers to potentially starve out the Skaven inside.

Skitek points out that if left alone for too long, they will eventually dig and connect the area to the under empire.

Y/n takes Skitek's counsel into close consideration. He knows better than to debate Skaven strategies with him.

However, Clan Angrund sends gyrobombers to join the siege. Following them are slayers, ready to die to retake the once lost dwarfhold.

With these reinforcements, Skitek has a plan of attack. All of Y/n's officers gather in a tent.

Y/n: You have a plan, Skitek?

Skitek: Yes-yes. Big-huge plan! We still lack numbers, but make up for it in technology! So what we need to do is funnel Queek's Skaven into a chokepoint. *laughs* Then we bomb them.

Wallo: That sounds like a sound plan to me.

Y/n: Agreed. Let's launch an assault with that plan in mind.

Y/n informs the slayers who happily agree to be the vanguard of the attack.

The assault begins and Y/n's forces break inside the walls and find a suitable chokepoint. The Skaven smash against a large shield wall of spearmen.

The gyrobombers fly overhead and drop their payloads in the middle of the Skaven horde. Skaven bodies go flying in the air.

This continued on until the bombers were out of bombs, then they began to fire normally at the horde.

The flanks were secured by ogres and slayers, who cut down any Skaven that dare make a flanking maneuver.

The headtaker appears from seemingly nowhere and cuts down two slayers in seconds. He growls and charges towards Y/n's location.

Queek found an Ogre in his path and jump onto his back, he stabbed through the skull and rode on his back as he fell down dead in front of Y/n.

Y/n readies himself as he looks at the headtaker pull his blade out.

Queek: I will slaughter-kill you, man-thing!

Y/n doesn't respond as he takes a defensive posture. Queek lunges at him, swinging the dwarf gouger at him. Y/n dodges and goes for a slash which Queek ducks under.

Queek goes for a stab which Y/n blocks with his shield and kicks Queek away. Queek gets up and jumps over Y/n to reposition himself, he follows it up with a spinning attack which Y/n blocks but finds his guard broken. Queek smirks and smacks Y/n in the head with the dwarf gouger, making Y/n fall to the side.

Y/n struggles to get himself back up from the blow as Queek approaches. Queek goes for a stab but Y/n rolls away and gets up again. Queek goes for a jumping slash but Y/n delivers an uppercut with his shield, sending Queek up in the air. Queek crashes down and rolls backwards to get back up.

Queek begins to get frustrated and goes into a frenzy, he begins to deliver a barrage of attacks against Y/n who struggles to keep up with them all.

Y/n manages to do so however, and finds a point to kick Queek away and make him lose momentum. Y/n then goes offensive and delivers a slash that Queek blocks with both weapons.

Y/n continues to press down as Queek begins to struggle to keep hold of his block.

Suddenly a ball of fire hits Y/n and sends him flying backwards against a wall.

Wallo kills a Skaven and sees Y/n fall to the ground.

Vogg sees it as well. The two sprint to defend Y/n.

A cloaked figure walks in front of Queek.

Figure: Headtaker. The battle is lost, but you can get your revenge in all due time.

The figure snaps their fingers and opens a portal.

Figure: Come with me, and you will find sanctuary.

Queek sees Vogg and Wallo. But he also sees his Skaven have clearly no hope in winning. So he retreats with the figure who closes the portal as they pass through.

Wallo helps Y/n up.

Y/n: A servant of chaos?

Wallo: Definitely not a friend. That is for sure.

Y/n: Let's clean up and deliver the news. We still have a very long journey ahead of us.
