The caravan makes the trek to Cathay, making it through some unfavorable terrain but makes it none the less.
They step foot into this new and beautiful land, most could hardly believe their eyes.
They manage to find a small village and find decide to ask the locals to directions to the nearest village.
The elder gives them directions. A small boy runs past Y/n quickly and Vogg grabs him.
Boy: Ahhh!
Y/n turns
Y/n: Vogg!
Vogg grabs Y/n's coin pouch from the boy's hand and tosses it back to Y/n before putting the boy down.
The boy looks down in fear that he'd be yelled at.
The elder speaks up.
Elder: Bao. The village trouble maker! What did I tell you about stealing from travelers?!
Bao: I...I...I'm sorry. I'm just so hungry and Mr.Fang only payed me two coins today.
Elder: That is no excuse!
Y/n: Excuse me sir. How much normally is a loaf of bread?
Elder: A loaf of bread is normally five coins.
Y/n opens his coin purse and takes out some coins.
Y/n opens Bao's hand and places the coin into his palm.
Y/n: Go on now, go get some food.
Bao: Thank you mister!
Bao runs off and Y/n chuckles.
Elder: You are very generous.
Y/n: I am lucky to be born into nobility. But not everyone is so fortunate.
The caravan continues on their journey. But as they travel suddenly Gnoblars rush towards the caravan, causing the troops to adopt defensive formations.
Enemy ogres appear behind the Gnoblars and rush towards the caravan.
The fighting becomes chaos.
Y/n dodges a swing from a club only for it to launch a basket, the basket turns upside down and Bao can be seen falling out of the basket onto the ground.
Y/n: What the?!
The ogre swings at Y/n again while he is distracted. But Kilgaz jumps and cuts the Ogre's head off with one slice.
Y/n: Kilgaz! With me!
Kilgaz nods and Y/n rushed to Bao who is rubbing his head in pain.
A Gnoblar charges at Bao but Y/n punts it away and scoops up Bao.
Y/n: What are you doing here?
Bao: You were nice to me, so I didn't want you to leave.
Ogres appear in front of Y/n and Kilgaz jumps in between them.
Bao: NO!
Bao extends his hand and the ogres go flying backwards.
Y/n looks at Bao with shock.
Y/n: That's incredible! I have never seen such magic!
The battle continues and the bandits are defeated. The officers meet with Y/n.
Vogg: Those boys definitely belong to Greasus Goldtooth. His troops must be raiding Cathay for whatever wealth they can get.
Wallo: What do we do about the kid?
Y/n looks at Bao.
Y/n: Let's keep him. After all, we can help him learn to tame his magic.
Bao looks excited as he jumps up and down.
On the way they find refuges marching their direction. According to the refuges one of the great bastions has been breached by warriors of chaos and massive battles have been taking place.
Y/n hears this and the caravan knows their next objective.
The caravan goes towards the great bastions. Armies of Cathay battle warriors of chaos.
The armies of Cathay seem to be losing as the chaos warriors easily break through the main infantry of Cathay.
The terracotta sentinels are being held back by larger creatures of chaos as the archers fill the sky with arrows.
Y/n and his army get ready to fight, they then charge towards the frontline.
The overwhelmed and outnumbered Cathay warriors were barely hanging on until Y/n's men come charging into the line and pushing the chaos warriors back.
Y/n: Spears, Halberdiers! To the front!
Y/n's men follow his command as the swordsmen and axemen make way for the spears and halberds.
Y/n approaches a down Jade warrior and helps him up.
Y/n: Soldier, where is your commander?!
Jade warrior: I-I don't know! I think I saw him crushed under one of those monsters!
Y/n: Alright. We'll get your comrades together. Gather any of your people as we pass and get them ready to fight!
Y/n rushes to the front as the fighting breaks out.
Y/n: Spears! Make a gap! Infantry charge!
The spears make a gap and allow the infantry to charge through and met the chaos warriors head on.
The chaos warriors now find themselves outnumbered and taking casualties.
Y/n: Vogg!
Vogg smashes a warrior beneath his feet and looks at Y/n.
Y/n: Get your ogres to deal with the big ones! We need those massive statutes to help us!
Vogg: Got it!
Vogg gathers ogres and leads a charge against a keeper of secrets. The keeper stands no chance as the ogres swarm them and knock them down. From there they stabbed and pummeled it to death.
This freed the sentinel that was fighting the keeper who in turn helped another sentinel. This created a domino effect that caused some sentinels to be able to assist the infantry.
The chaos lord in charge orders a retreat towards the bastion. The enemy retreats and Y/n meets with the new officer of the remaining Cathayan forces.
Officer: Thank you! Without you we would have lost for sure.
Y/n: What's the situation?
Officer: Not good. Our general is dead and we don't know who is coming to help us. These bastards came for the bastion while the Iron dragon is busy with dark elves. The storm dragon is elsewhere and we were tasked to retake the western bastion.
Y/n: Well then, you come with us and we'll help you retake the bastion.
Officer: Tell us what you need and we'll do it!
Y/n: Get in formations and march beside us.
Officer: Yes sir!
