Briar's POV

It's been four days since Luke and I went to the diner that my mom and I used to go to. We still talk every time we see each other in class and in passing, but other than that we've both been busy.

I've been trying to make sure I stay caught up with school work and Luke has been making sure he stays at the top of his game in practice along with keeping up on school work. Things will be less tense next week because his first game is today so he won't have to train as hard.

We will also be done with tests and stuff by the end of today as well, this whole week has been test after test in all of my classes, and likely Luke's too, which is why we've had to study so hard lately.

I decided to wear black straight legged pants with a black cropped tank top today seeing as how it's in that weird cold-but-warm stage as it transitions from summer to fall.

Luke on the other hand had to wear a suit today because all jocks have to wear formal wear when they have a game. I am certainly not complaining in the slightest. The suit makes Luke look even more dashing that he usually does as he stands in the hallway with the fabric stretching over his broad shoulders and bulging muscles. He also has that just-rolled-out-of-bed look that makes him appear effortlessly handsome.

My mind drifts off to when we last hung out. He was wearing black pants, a white shirt, white shoes and a black bracelet. It took everything in me not to gasp and salivate at the sight of him when I opened the door. A man who can dress right gets an A+ in my books, but I gave Luke an A++++ out of pure favoritism.

He doesn't even have to try to look handsome and he still manages to do just that.

Luke looks over at me as he's in the middle of laughing and my breath catches in my throat. His twinkling eyes, perfect teeth and dazzling smile cause something to stir in the pit of my stomach. That something would be butterflies. Every time I see him, it's like a new butterfly is created for each emotion he invokes in me.

I quickly look away, too shy to make prolonged eye contact with him. Needing a distraction, my ears tune back into the conversation at hand amongst my friends.

"Don't ever say that about my boy again" I hear John say, sounding perpetually vexed might I add.

"But think about it. Flynn Ryder was always talking about how he wanted a castle and we can assume that he knew about the golden flower which would bring together that the child who had the golden hair would grow up with it. Once he saw Rapunzel, he knew that it had to be her. He could have manipulated her into loving him so that he could get his castle, be pardoned from his crimes and even become King one day. All I'm saying is you have to think about the possibility." Stacey says in a bored tone. To the untrained eye, you would think she didn't care about this conversation, but I don't miss the twinkle of mischief in her eyes. She's enjoying this.

"I most certainly do not." John says with a huff as he crosses his arms.

I look over to Lucy and see that she's hiding a smile.

"Are you guys seriously fighting over a Disney movie?" I question with a small smile.

"No, she is trying to turn my boy into a villain. This is defamation I could sue you." John finishes with a frown.

"I would do no such thing, I was just helping you look at things from a different perspective." She responds in a matter-of-fact tone.

I chuckle slightly right as the bell rings. "Okay guys come on, time to head to class."

John grumbles whereas Stacey laughs.

It takes us a couple minutes but we make it to class just on time, finding our seats quickly before we get yelled at. The teacher isn't here yet but I don't wanna take my chances. I sit down at my spot, not unaware of the fact that Luke was already sitting down in the seat next to mine.
