Luke's POV
The rest of the day went by fast, everything passing by in a blur. Night came and it was finally game night. I made sure that Briar wore my letterman jacket. One, because it's colder at night and two, because it makes me so happy when she wears my name on her body. I admit that it also turns me on and fills me a with a primal possession to make sure that everyone knows she's mine.
I stand among my team mates in the locker room, everyone wearing their pads and uniforms. They all look to me, expecting me to say something before the game as team captain, and I oblige.
"Alright everyone, listen up. You've worked hard and busted your asses to get to where we are tonight. You have increased your skill and performance and I know you all are going to destroy out there. Tonight we go against the Ravens. They are our rival team, and they are good. But who's better? Who will show these birds who is in fact the reigning champs?!" I yell out.
"Hawks!" They all shout in unison.
"We will never stand down to them because it's dinner time and the Hawks are hungry!" I call.
"Yeah!" They all roar before we shove each other out and towards the field.
We step out and the crowd goes wild as we all jog out onto the field. The first thing I do is look up into the stands and find my girl. I notice her right away with her beautiful smile and my letterman jacket on her shoulders.
She seems to notice me right away and her smile grows even more. I sign "my girl" towards her like I did the last time I played. Her cheeks redden at the symbol and I smirk before I get called away from her gaze and towards my team.
I jog over and everyone gathers in a huddle with Coach.
"Alright now I want you all to pay attention to my and Luke's commands. If we tell you to do a certain play, you do it. We all know how good a captain Luke has been so trust him and trust your team. You guys have worked hard now get out there and play like you mean it!" Coach shouts. We all cheer before we break the huddle and get out onto the field for the game.
I look over at Briar one more time and see that her eyes are still on me, watching me. I smirk again, happy to know that she does the same thing I do to her. I always watch her when she isn't paying attention because she's so beautiful and one of my favorite people in this world. I can't believe how lucky I am.
I get into position and wait for my team to be ready for my next order.
"Blue forty-two, set, set, hike!" I call out and the ball snaps to me.
I catch it with ease and quickly scan for my opening. I see that Devon is open and snap the ball over to him as quick as I can. I watch as he catches it like it's nothing and darts over to the end of the field for the touchdown. We all run behind him to block any opposing forces and it pays off as he makes the first touchdown. We all shout happily and slap each other's helmets to say we did a good job.
The rest of the game goes easily and we win 49-7. I admit that we messed up letting them get the touchdown and the field goal, but we made up for it by never letting the score again the rest of the game.
The crowd came down onto the field after our win and I searched everywhere to see where Briar was. It took a little bit before I saw her lock of hair pounding through the slimming crowd towards me.
"Luke!" I hear her angelic voice call over the crowd and instantly a smile forms over my face.
Her face pops up before me and I chuckle.
"Hi princess." I drawl before grabbing her by the waist and pulling her towards me.
"You won!" She says happily, her smile never leaving her face.
