"tai, everyone thinks this is a bad idea" van said after taissa got all her stuff and was going to go (try) and find help 

"well, we have to do something..we're starving, theres nothing to hunt!" taissa argued 

"the animals might be migrating" misty spoke up 

"thats probably why the only game we've seen for weeks has been that sick deer, and its just gonna keep getting colder and not 'i better put on a coat' cold, we're talking 'dying feels like falling asleep' cold" taissa exclaimed to the group 

'i'd rather die than be out here' marley thought to herself while running her fingers through her hair 

"what do you think, lottie?" everyone looked at lottie after laura lee asked her

"i dont know" she said lowly, still looking down at her feet 

"look guys, anyone who wants to come with me is welcome, but im going" 

"you're gonna want to take stuff with you, right? like food and supplies? thats not up to you" akilah stated 

"well, you cant just send her out there with fucking nothing" marley argued getting a hum in agreement from shauna 

"this is insane, we dont know where we are, just that we're surrounded by big-ass mountains, what are you now? edmund fucking hillary?" van argued 

"who?" marley and mari asked getting a quick look from van 

"like i said, we're not on an island, if we go south, we've got to run into something eventually" marley had a horrible feeling about this, but she knew she wouldn't be able to stop tai 

"a road, a town, anything" tai said and nat shook her head 

"no, you cant take the rifle, i am all for what you're trying to do, tai, but the gun has to stay" 

"okay, fine, i could bring some of the stuff we dont use everyday, one of the axes, the compass..." jackie interrupted 

"theres a flare gun in the dead guys plane" she said quickly

"do not tell me, that you, of all people, are on board with this?" van said in disbelief 

"what shes saying makes sense, i mean, if she's willing to go, then.." jackie shrugged 

"what if you're wrong?" laura lee asked taissa 

"what if theres just nothing" 

"i dont know" taissa said simply before lottie looked up 

"you do know"

"yeah..if im wrong, i'll die out there" tai said simply 

"im leaving in an hour" tai continued before walking back to the cabin
