xvi. fight night

everyone sat in the cabin in silence, a sad heavy energy floating in the air 

"you need to drink some water shauna" tai said to shauna, bringing the cup 

"come on, just a little sip" tai said while trying to get shauna to drink but she just turned the other way, still holding onto her wrapped up baby 

lottie held onto marley as she rested her head on her chest, she rubbed her head gently before stopping suddenly 

"lottie, what is it?" tai asked as lottie stared at the window 

"the snow, it finally stopped" lottie said and everyone perked up, looking out the window also 

everyone got up, letting travis, marley and ethan get to the door so they could get it open

travis pulled on the doorknob by ethan pulled on him and marley pulled on ethan

"its moving, okay, dont let up" travis said as the twins behind him grunted 

marley and ethan fell back once the door opened, snow tumbling in as everyone gasped and cheered 

"hey someone grab a bucket" akilah said while marley and ethan high-fived, breathing heavy 

everyone grabbed a bucket or a bowl, shovelling some of the snow

marley shovelled the snow with akilah, gen and mari 

"i just keep thinking, what if she had gotten to a hospital" gen said, bending down to get more snow into her bowl and marley looked up at her 

"what hospital, gen?" she asked harshly 

"look, we did the best that we could, i mean, misty...she did a pretty damn good job, theres no way i could've kept my shit together like she did at the end" marley said throwing the snow out of her bowl

"yeah, thats true she didnt even flinch" gen said also throwing some snow out of her bucket 

"well, that makes sense" mari said before standing up 

"you guys, i think she's even more psychotic than we thought, im pretty sure she did something to crystal" mari said and the three others stood up 

"like...what do you mean, killed her?" akilah asked 

"why would she kill her only friend?" gen asked mari and akilah and marley nodded in agreement 

"yeah" 

"um, i dont know, because she's misty" mari said while crossing her arms

"i mean, god, she tried to poison coach scott when she was supposedly in love with him, and think about it, now that the snow has stopped, wouldn't you think that she'd be out there looking for her friend?" mari theorized as the three listened intently
