The sunlight was blinding.
The sunlight was blinding, and Bliss was warm.
This was the life.
November 19, was indeed a spectacular day.
"Hey, wake up," Bliss whispered, shaking Connor's arm.
He had her boxed in his arms.
Not that she minded.
"Wake up, Golden. It's November 19," She dragged out the date.
Connor hummed as he pulled her closer to him. Not that there was much space between them.
He was a self-proclaimed cuddle bug.
"My wife is waking me up," He said to himself lowly. "I have a wife," He smiled and patted her cheek lazily. "Good morning," He sat up and moved her lovely curls away from her stunning face.
Bliss beamed at her husband.
Husband.
The title gave her butterflies.
Connor narrowed his eyes as he watched her.
It was like watching a documentary on beauty.
"I didn't think you could be more beautiful," He said perplexed.
Bliss blushed and squeezed him. "I didn't think you could be more handsome, Golden. Handsome, warm, and cuddly," She winked and rested her head on his chest. "Where are we going?"
Connor twisted his fingers in her hair and shrugged. "I can't say just yet, my beautiful wife. I can say we're flying to DC first,"
He was excited to take her away and swoon her for the first time as her husband.
His pursuit wouldn't end. It would only maximize.
"You've always got a surprise up your sleeve," Bliss noted. "I love you so much, Connor. You're such a superb man." She kissed his chest and drew a heart around it.
Connor's heart warmed at her tenderness.
His wife knew what to say.
"Last night, I couldn't fall asleep because I realized I was living the prayers I'd prayed years ago," Connor told her, making her melt. "Because of what I saw my parents have in marriage, I wanted that for myself. I wanted a wife to dote on and make laugh. I wanted a best friend and partner to live with. But more than that," He stroked her cheek as she gazed up at him.
Her eyes were perfection.
He'd heard it said that some people had love in their eyes. Since meeting Bliss, he understood it wasn't only real, but it was an honor to be one looked at with love.
"I wanted a wife to pray for. I wanted a reason to seek God for something more than myself. I wanted to live out the verses that God set before a husband to do for his wife. And I thank God for gifting me such a wife." He kissed her. "Such a wife who has allowed me since day one to cover her in prayer. To hold her hand. To serve her. To openly adore her. To dote on her. To make her laugh. To be a good listener. To be a comforter."
There was the love again.
Her bright eyes sparkled.
"I will lay my life down for you, Bliss Maria. Not only in death but in life. I will always choose to lift you up when I can. You're the crown of beauty the Lord blessed me with. The priceless diamond. My sweet," He caressed her cheek. "My precious," He was utterly captivated by the love his wife showed him.
"My lovely, captivating wife. Knowing that I get to love and adore you for the rest of my life amazes me. I get to be the one you desire. The one you chose. The one you've allowed to cherish your heart as the precious jewel it is," He was speechless.
