"Mr. and Mrs. Jefferies, it's good to meet you." A kind Indian woman greeted them with a smile.

Mrs. Tanko followed through with Connor about the agency. Now they were meeting the agent who would help them with the steps of adoption.

David was with Katrina, who was enjoying every second with her soon-to-be legal grandson.

The couple was transparent about their fears and doubts but chose to cling to God and trust His hand.

Bliss clung to Connor's hand as they sat before the woman. She wanted to be home with David, protecting him from the possibility of being snatched away from them.

In Connor's words, she was indeed a mama bear.

Connor kissed her hand and smiled at the woman.

"Thank you for meeting with us. We really appreciate you,"

Today, he was the confident one. He prayed to remain confident and for Bliss to be as well.

"Yes, thank you," Bliss added softly, feeling her heart pitter-pattering rapidly against her chest.

She wanted to know everything now.

No waiting.

However, she knew it wasn't that simple.

"Of course! Mrs. Tanko tells me this case is close to home for you, Mr. Jefferies. I hope you don't mind me saying," She said apologetically, but still with a firm tone.

He shook his head. "No, ma'am. She was right to tell you. I just pray it allows for this case to be settled quickly and without hurting David,"

And us, he left out.

The woman smiled with a sparkle of determination in her eyes. "That's good to hear." She covered her mouth seconds later and laughed. "Oh, excuse me. I didn't share my name. Blessing Okal,"

Blessing.

Bliss's heart jumped at the name.

"It's a beautiful name, Mrs. Okal,"

Blessing winked at the nervous young woman. "Ah, thank you, dear. Let the Lord use my name to be a precursor of what He will do in this process, yes?"

Connor nodded and squeezed Bliss's hand. "Amen,"

"Now, tell me how you ended up caring for David. Start from the beginning, please."

Connor cleared his throat and began. "Saturday, it was between two and four in the morning. I got a call from the fire department from Kole, one of the men under me. He said a woman dropped a little boy off with his bags and other things. He wasn't sure what to do, so he called the Chief first, but he didn't answer. He called me after,"

Blessing nodded, noting his every word on her pad.

"Honestly, my heart was crushed. It took me back to being in foster homes as a kid, wondering when someone would adopt me, wondering where my parents were, it was a lot to deal with. I was a safe haven box baby, in a way, David is a safe haven toddler. When I arrived, I found his birth certificate with his things and after playing a bit, I took him home with me. It was decided the moment I heard about what happened, Bliss agreed."

Blessing hummed. "You saw yourself in the boy, and your compassionate heart immediately went out to him."

He nodded. "Once we made it home, I unpacked his clothes and found a note from his mother. Her name is Trinity and the choice to give up David wasn't an easy one. She saved his life, I-i won't share her story unless I have to, but it gave me peace knowing that she didn't just throw him away,"
