This collection is an unexpected addition to my assortment of poetry, and it was inspired by a Pinterest post about the assigned meaning of flowers and plants. While I would otherwise be reluctant to work on two drastically different collections at once, I was highly inspired by that particular illustration so much so that I could not delay it for months and wait any longer to utilise this idea. Even though I believe that it is somewhat clear what the objective is, I would like to emphasise it by noting that my intention is to employ a flower in a poem whose subject matter corresponds to its meaning. It's very simple but I really like the notion of that :)

The title refers to the mandrake root also known as mandragora, which is an anthropomorphic plant that has been used in nefarious practices (depending on who you ask) due to its rather startling nature and resemblance to a human body. Here, I used it as a way to bridge the space between flora and human, and further communicate the aim of this collection :)

Thank you so much to anyone reading this :)) i hope you enjoy my upcoming botanical endeavours <3
