Chapter 7

I woke up to the sound of shouting, I rolled over and fell on the floor, I sat up and looked around the room, this isn’t the spare room, I looked at the walls and the events of last night came flooding back, I had slept in J.C.’s room, I stood up off the floor and followed the sound of people shouting. I walked towards the kitchen; I could now identify the voices of J.C., Lucy and I could vaguely see Nattie in the corner “you know Lucy you’re a true cow” well that’s a nice way to speak to your sister… “what is it to you, am not ruining your life” she shouted back at him “no but you are going to ruin Amy’s life instead” why was he sticking up for me, he barely knows me “and that matters why, she’s stealing you from Sarah, you know your girlfriend” I heard J.C. give a frustrating groan “Sarah is not my girlfriend anymore, I caught her kissing jack, you know our cousin jack” I caught Nattie’s eyes and she looked sad “look Lucy I agree with J.C. you are just being a pure bitch to Amy, why not try and get to know her she is a really great girl to be friends with” after hearing Nattie say that I felt guilty for how I reacted last night, I understand that it must not have been easy for her to see what nearly happened and I should be happy that if harry ever does remember that I have someone to stand by me, I turned round and walked up the stairs in silence, well attempted to, I turned round and walked straight into the plant pot which then cause me to trip over my own foot and end up on the floor “oww!” I kind of groaned but shouted, I heard movement and then saw J.C. and Nattie standing over me, I gave a toothy grin and looked up at them both “hi” I said sheepishly “did you hear any of that” J.C. asked, I nodded and then stood up, he looked at me sadly.

After I got up from the floor I walked back to my, well the room I was sharing with Nattie, I got through the doors and collapsed on the bed, a few seconds later Nattie walked in, I looked up at her, she still had the saddened look in her eyes that she had earlier on “Ammie I am soo sorry” she said standing in the door way, I looked up at her and sighed “I know you are and I’m sorry for how I reacted, I was shocked that there was someone who knew but it hurt that much that you didn’t help me” she looked at me and gave a sad smile “I sorry but I panicked, it was a flight or fight moment and I flew, I am so so sorry Ammie and I will do anything to prove it” she said walking over to me, I stood up and smiled at her “no need, I forgive you” I said pulling her into a hug, she looked at me and smiled “right you are going to tell me what is happening between my cousin and you” she said as if the previous conversation hadn’t happened, I looked at her and smiled “nothing is happening, we’re just friends” I said running my hand threw my hair pushing my fringe out the way, Nattie looked at me and raised her eyebrow “there is nothing going on” I said as I looked to the clock on the wall “argh!!! I’m late, I’m late, I’m late” I said over and over again like the rabbit out of ‘Alice in wonderland’ Nattie looked at me and burst out laughing, I dashed out the room and into the bathroom where I brushed my teeth and did my make-up.

After rushing round the house like a mad woman and nearly knocking J.C. off his feet I was finally ready, my hair was up and my bangs were down. I was stood in front of Nattie and she was looking at me strangely “what in the name of all that is holey are you wearing” she burst out with, I looked at her and down at my uniform “my uniform” I said simply, she looked at me and continued laughing “what are you laughing at” I heard J.C. say as he walked into the hall way, he placed his arm around my shoulder “why is she laughing” he asked me, I looked at him an shrugged “right we are off to school don’t burn the house down” J.C. said sternly “that was one time and it was only the kitchen” I let out a small laugh, I remember that summer.
