Consciousness - Gift

I know I said I'll update this... that was over a year ago. I forgot I had this app- the parts to this story have been sitting in my notes app. Anyway-

Shuri comes in with a case, like the case that she gave Bucky those years ago. She sat it at Daniels feet and opened it, he stared speechless at his new prosthetic arm. "An arm personalized just for you. Just like you fathers. And Tony's." Shuri smiled at him.
"H-How will it be attached to my shoulder?" He said while looking at his shoulder then back at it. "Well.. you'll have to go through another surgery. They will attach a padding like thing to your shoulder like you dad's. That will be connected to the inside of your shoulder, to the bone, the muscles, and the nerves. This arm will connect to the pad. The nerves will go through to the arm and you'll be able to control it. It will be hard to move your arm for a while, but you'll get the hang of it." Dr. Strange jumped into the conversation and explained as well as he could for Daniel to understand. He blinked. "Uh- okay. Cool. Cyborg trio am I right?" He laughed softly, looking at Bucky and Tony. "That's right, Bud." Bucky laughed and rustled his sons hair. Loki smiled and shook his head. Daniel signed. "It- it feels like it's still there." "Phantom pain." Bucky and Tony said in unison. "Will it hurt? When the thing gets put in my shoulder." He asked. "Well, it will feel odd and will hurt a little, but it shouldn't too much." Shuri said. "So.. when will this surgery be done?" Daniel asked. "Next few weeks, you need time to heal a little more before going in and attaching something to your shoulder. With your quick healing, it should be fast." Strange said. "Uh, why let my shoulder heal, then go in and tearing it up again to insert metal?" Daniel asked. "It'll make the healing process longer and more painful if we cut into tissue that is not suitable to be." Stephan said.
"Oh."

Most everyone left, leaving Daniel, Bucky, Loki, and his brothers in the room. "Where's Flynn, Tyler, and Elliot?" Daniel asked. "Oh shi- we forgot to tell you-" Bucky was cut off by Daniel starting to panic. "Are they dead?! Please-" "No, no, sweetie- they're okay." Loki said softly, rubbing his sons back trying to calm him down. "Oh thank Asgard." He sighed in relief. "They got injured quite a bit like you. But none of them got stabbed near the heart thankfully.. All of you have been blinded. You and Flynn in your left eyes. Elliot and Tyler in their right eyes. Tony and Shuri are working on something to help with that. Flynn got his leg broken, so you will have to visit him one you gain strength to walk around. Loks, what were their other injuries?" Bucky finished. "All of them were stabbed in the abdomen. Tyler's right arm is broken. All of you left with bruises, scratches, and broken ribs ." Daniel held his cat plush, which was made by Loki before he was born, tightly with his right arm. He sighed, "Did anyone else get seriously injured?" "Peter's right leg is also broken. They're seeing if it needs to be amputated... and your brothers-" He glanced over at them. "as you can tell, Narvi was cut on his neck and Váli was slashed along his face." Bucky said. Daniel stared at his prosthetic case across the room. It's my fault.. isn't it? Thoughts raced in his mind and he grew teary eyed. His brothers watched their fathers try to cheer their youngest brother up. Narvi got up and walked over to the bed. He kissed Daniel's forehead, "It's not your fault, Danny." He whispered, as if he read his brothers mind.
