The performance I had just done was incredible. However, I have to catch a car ASAP for my next show. I'm excited and nervous. As other areas may not react as well as my hometown.
In Pennsylvania, Pittsburg
An hour away from my home, I and Matrix just got to our hotel room. Quickly, I let him loose in the room and put down his favorite blanket. As well as putting out his favorite treats and his favorite toys. I have to go work now.
Makayla took off back to Nashville with Addison. I'm surprised by it, but also okay with it. Honestly, I think that the space and time apart will do us some good. Let her figure out her own shit while I figure out mine. While I work and prepare for what's to come with the album release.
As soon as I have Matrix safely in the hotel room, I make sure that the door is locked. Then put a "Do not disturb" sign on the door. So that no maids accidentally let Matrix out of the room unaware he's in there.
My family is coming from an hour away in Ohio to see me perform again today. The only person not coming is Makayla since she flew back to Tennessee on her own. My aunt says she's coming but every event or occasion that I invite her to she says she's coming and never shows.
Once I reach the venue it's more beautiful than I remember seeing it. I'll be performing in my own room at the Pittsburg expo center. I once came here for an American Idol audition. It was a lot of fun, but nobody at my audition made it past the producers.
I wish those producers could see me now. The girl that had the guts to cover "Warrior" by Demi Lovato. That couldn't make it past the producers. Now on a tour of her own through the United States with republica records. Their jaws would probably drop.
People begin showing up, and this time I have a room where I'm able to get dressed. So I don't have to run to bathrooms or hide behind a stage. It's kind of nice having that kind of privacy and that kind of special treatment here. What if one day the performance is at Madison Square Garden?
Madison Square Garden. Every artist's dream. The biggest names in music get to perform there. Not just any nobody gets to perform there. You have to be so famous that the world knows your name to be able to perform at that venue.
Eventually, I'm dressed in golden sparkles. Like an Egyptian queen. I walk out into the section of the room that is kind of considered my "stage" and take a seat on a stool. "How is everyone doing tonight?" I ask the crowd then adjust my microphone stand to my height.
The crowd gives me a positive reaction and I smile in return. "So my opening song for today is going to be a song I wrote in high school. It's about a young girl and her romantic partner. They're not exactly traditionalists so they made a decision that's not usual." I say
"Instead of wearing the traditional white for her wedding gown, she decided, well, she would wear Yellow." The music begins playing in the background and I begin giggling as I had written this song long ago about a celebrity crush of mine and how I imagined our wedding.
"first she said...
"you be my Romeo .
I'll be your Juliet.
I had my eye on you for quite a while.
Just take me now and walk me down the aisle"
so say I do.
They were shiny like a brand new Maserati.
Wanted to start a life, go see the city.
And she said "I want you for worst or for better."
