THIRD PERSON POV

Rofus had already lit a couple of cigarettes and finished them, but despite his best attempts, he was having difficulties falling asleep and couldn't get comfortable enough to do so. The birds that sing in the morning have already started generating a lot of noise, and Rofus is aware that the dawn of a new morning is drawing closer. He was currently having significant levels of contemplation while brooding over everything in a dimly lit workplace, where he was currently located. With the help of the dim light that is emanating from the light that is attached to the side of his table, he will be able to see everything that is happening in the entire room. Even if Rofus has consumed several cans of beer, his body does not exhibit any indicators that it is preparing to relax and rest as a consequence of this.

Rofus is frightened that Jack, his inner wolf, may behave irresponsibly once more without him even being aware of it when he wakes up or goes to sleep later, but he is thankful that everything is going according to plan. Amelia is staying the night in their packhouse because of Nikita and knowing she is his mate, which is why Jack is becoming restless and Rofus is worried. Because of what Jack has done in the past, Rofus is no longer in a position to place his faith in him, especially tonight.

"Let's meet her, Rofus! Should we begin by making our introductions to her, if you don't mind?"

Jack made several recommendations, and Rofus vigorously shook his head to indicate that he did not agree with what he wanted.

"Why don't you want? Sooner or later, she will become part of our pack. Where exactly does the difficulty lie in that? She is our mate. We will still make an effort to introduce ourselves to her at some point in the future; why can't we do that now?"

Rofus did not speak out at any point.

"Wait a moment, Rofus. Don't tell me that you have it all out to reject her as our potential Luna, would you? Have you given any thought to turning her down? No, Rofusio, you can't do that without my permission; it's against the rules! I like her so much!"

This directive came from Jack, and Rofus is aware that he was told it more than once, but he is pretending not to hear it. In light of the fact that their mate, in the form of Amelia, is now present in their pack house, he is certain that Jack will not simply be quiet and do nothing; yet, he has always been aware that this will not be the case. Because he is so naughty, his wolf is capable of carrying out activities that are completely incredible without his knowledge. Because of this, he is worried about the chance that he will wake up at a later time and learn that he is already accountable for the wolf transgression Jack committed to his mate.

"Rofus? You can't even hear me? Give me a response! Please don't be so reticent all the time."

Despite the fact that Rofus was well aware that there was nothing he could do to stop his inner wolf from dictating and pushing his goals, he continued to do it nonetheless. He continued to make an effort to halt and restrain himself.

"Jack, you are not allowed to conduct yourself in such a manner. Before you do anything that could bring discredit to my name, you should give some thought to the context."

"Tarnished your good name? Rofus, please don't make fun of me. Why do you feel the need to turn her down? It didn't happen more often than once every blue moon to meet a mate. It was written in the stars for her to be our Luna. No matter what happens, we have no choice but to claim her and take ownership of her. You don't need to be concerned about the fact that you were unable to complete that task since I will be the one to carry it out. Simply give it to me in this form. There is no reason for you to get involved in this. I will reiterate what I've already said: she is our mate. And I am prepared to do anything and everything in order for us to be able to claim her as our own."

"Even so, Jack. We have no intention of putting her in any kind of danger. Do you think that by doing that, she is immune to being intimidated in any way? Tell me, what are you going to do to her as soon as she discovers that she is our mate? I'm curious. Explain it to me, Jack. Please get back to me as soon as you can so I can understand."

Jack did not answer for the very first time. After a couple of minutes of silence, Rofus finally spoke.

"There is a key distinction to be made between Amelia and us. She is not the same as us. The fact that she is a human increases the likelihood that telling her anything about our species may make her feel threatened. Let's just hold off until the right moment comes along, shall we?"

"Rofus, I won't embrace her as I did earlier; I'll just look at her for a few seconds. I promise that all I'll do is stare at her."

"I say no, Jack! It is not the right time yet."

"Rofus—"

"Don't be malicious, because if you do, she might experience severe anxiety when she sees you again, and that would be a terrible thing. I even went so far as to inform her that what she had seen of me earlier in the woods was not actually me in any way, shape, or form. In what way could that possibly be helpful? Do not take the initiative since the results will be unsatisfactory if you push and do that again, Jack."

"What do you mean, Rofus?"

"Despite the fact that it appeared to be our second time interacting with her, I pretended as though it were our first time doing so. It's impossible to deny, isn't it? You are the one who successfully persuaded her that you are—"

Rofus's inner wolf let out a laugh, which momentarily rendered him unable to move while he attempted to make sense of what had just taken place.

"Rofusio, you and I are identical in every way. The fact that we reside in the same physical body but have separate souls is the only thing that sets the two of us apart from one another. Within the context of the bigger picture, you represent me, and I represent you. We are all simply a single being that is housed within a body that can take on two distinct forms. In contrast to me, you are a human person, and I am a wolf. I am the shapeshifting wolf that you are, and you are the human form that I take. In what specific ways are these two things distinct from one another? Are you kidding me now?"
