Blossom POV:
The next few days go by smoothly. So far, there's no sign of Him, or of my sisters going through what happened to me. Buttercups acting weird, but then again she's usually one for holding everything in until the last possible second. I'm hanging on the edge of my seat waiting for her to barge in one day dragging Bubbles behind her and blurt out some crazy news like she's quitting college. Or just pour out every single thing she's ever felt since she was eight years old. One wrong move around her and I'm certain she'll spiral out of control.
Bubbles has been working overtime on all her assignments. She even pulled out her glasses. I haven't seen her wear a pair since we were little. But now she's running around without her contacts, wearing those thick wireframed glasses she used to hate.
My sisters are giving my anxiety anxiety. Bubbles won't stop muttering over and over about all the work she has to get done, and Buttercup--as stated previously--looks like a balloon about to burst.
The other day I was in Buttercup's dorm room, and Bubbles had brought up hers and Boomers date they were planning. Buttercup dropped her glass and froze. I would have expected her to be angry, or annoyed about it. But she just froze and began to laugh as if the glass breaking was the funniest thing in the world.
She's walking on eggshells and I don't know why. Could be a number of reasons, honestly. She's worried about the possibilities of Him. She's worried about herself and Bubbles. She's worried about me. She's pissed at the guys still? She's angry at the professor? Or it could be something completely unrelated.
"Glad to see you're back to normal." Brick says one morning as he leaves his room.
I'm curled up on the couch with a book in my lap and blankets around me. "Bubbles and I decided on a Halloween costume." I inform him.
The last few days I've been focusing on what we're going to do, seeing as Halloween is in a few days now. The Professor usually has us stay out front and hand out candy to kids. Him and Buttercup got super in to a horror house thing a few years back. They did a haunted house that year while Bubbles and I stayed behind dressed as fairies handing out candy. The year after that Bubbles and him went to a play. I was stuck dressing up as a creepy doll with Buttercup to scare the kids. Each year it was something different and this year is not going to be any different. No matter what is going on with Him and Chemical Y.
"Yeah? End up with zombies or Toy-Story Aliens?" Brick smirked, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
"Actually," I close my book. "Bubbles was really wanting to do villains, soooo."
"Ah. Poison Ivy?" He sat down beside me, offering a cup of coffee I gratefully accepted.
"How'd you guess?" I roll my eyes.
"'Cause you love the color green, duh."
"Nothing to do with the red hair then?"
"Red hair? Oh. Look at that." He smirks. "Guess you do have red hair."
I began to laugh and coffee shot out my nose. He followed suit and then we were both a hysterical mess. As long as the coffee didn't ruin my book, everything would be alright.
We were laughing. Everything will be alright. With me, with my sisters, with life... it'll all be okay.
My phone rings, disrupting my giggle fit. Buttercup?
I answer, "Hello?"
Butch POV:
"Soooo," I look around the messy room. "Remind me what you're doing?"
