(Hailey's POV)
My phone went off, probably some dorky text from Jake telling me he misses me 2 seconds after he walked away.

Lia?? Since when does she text me.

-The heartbreaking audio-

I dropped my phone. My heart shattered to pieces. It can't be real... I knew it, he never wanted to be with me...

I knew it would be instant death if I told Zander just yet. I decided to text the club without Jake. I may be fighting back tears, but I have to tell Jake it's over without them around.

H- I'm helping Ms. Jones with something during lunch today, let's move practice to after school!

M- why'd you text the old group chat?

H- oops I'll just tell Jake separate lol

Close one.

H- Jake, I need to talk to you. It's kind of important.

J- Alright❤️ everything okay? Need some private cuddle time princess?

H- No, it's not okay. Meet me at Ms. Jones' room now.

J- On my way.

I stood outside of Ms. Jones' classroom door.

"Oh, hi there Hailey!" Ms. Jones came up to me and smiled.

"Hi Ms. Jones! Is there any way I can use your classroom to have a private conversation with a friend? We need somewhere nobody can listen in." Ms. Jones isn't the type of teacher to think of anything weird if I said that.

"Of course! While you're at it, could you sweep the floor? I really need some help around." She asked

"I can do that, thanks!" I smiled.

"I'll unlock the door, it's all yours for the period!" She smiled unlocking the door and leaving.

After she left I closed the door, grabbed the broom, and cried and swept at the same time. Jake was always late, so I didn't need to ru-

"Hailey..?" Jake walked in looking concerned as he looked at me.

I looked up and made eye contact with him as a tear rolled down my face. There was a rage building up in my heart.

"So.. you never wanted to be a music freak, huh?" I said sarcastically through angry tears.

"Hailey-" he started walking towards me

"Cut the fucking act Jake."

"I'm not acting! Please hear my explanation!"

"What is there to explain! You said it all in the damn video!"

"What damn video?!"

"Lia sent it to me, and you know what you said!"

"Oh.. the video where I got manipulated! So now we just believe every goddamn thing Lia says, huh?!" He laughed angrily.

"Lia sent me a video of you saying it! It didn't come out of her mouth did it?!"  I yelled starting to really cry.

Jake walked forward trying to get closer to me

"Can you please just listen..?" He asked

"What else is there to hear?! Did you forget to say something in the video?!"

"THEY FUCKING MESSED WITH MY HEAD!" He blurted out starting to tear up too.

"Then why *hic* would you let them , Jake? *hic*Why would you let those douches get to your head? * hic* I fucking warned you" I sobbed

"I know you did! I should've listened! Princess, I'm so sorry..." a tear streamed down his face and he tried to come closer to me.

I shoved him

"DON'T YOU COME ANY CLOSER. AS FAR AS I KNOW YOUR LOVE COULD BE AS FAKE AS A FUCKING UNICORN!" I yelled.

I looked at the ground, I can't look at him anymore. Seeing this he leaned down to get into my view.

"I know...you probably won't ever forgive me, and I deserve it.. but I want to just tell you what happened.. and that they aren't my friends anymore." He said in a soothing kind of tone.

"Fine, tell me."

-jake explaining everything-

"Jake, its not something I can easily forgive... but until you learn how to fucking control your own thinking, maybe its best if you keep your distance."

"Hailey-" he tried to come closer.

"You have to earn my trust back. So back off, kindly." I folded my arms.

"Sorry.." he sighed backing up

I walked out of the room, slamming the door behind me.

He knows that when he touches me I melt.. I wasn't letting my guard down this time.

When I got home that night, I ran to my room, closed the curtains, and locked my bedroom door. I put on my headphones and listened to the audio on repeat trying to find any hesitation.

He didn't hesitate shit.

Somewhere in the haze got a sense I've been betrayed..

-the next day-

I walked into school a little late, but when I did get there Jake immediately came up to me. He looked all bruised in the face like he just fought someone.

There was an honor and truth in his eyes, and that stopped me from screaming, and yelling.

"Jake... who hurt you?" I let my guard down again coming closer touching his cheek.

"It doesn't matter, all I can say is they won't come near you again." He smiled at me.

I started to cry, I can't believe I had the audacity to not believe him yesterday.

"I really thought I lost you.." I sobbed hugging him.

He hugged me back "I thought I lost you too, princess.."

We stood like that hugging eachother, crying for a bit.

"Wanna go for a walk and talk about it?" He asked when we stopped hugging.

"I would like that." I smiled taking his hand.

We walked the garden talking about everything.

"One day, if we look back on this fight.. it would be like a war. It needs a memorial garden." I laughed.

"What kind of plants?" He asked

"Well maybe some poppy flowers.." I said looking over at the Poppies.

"And definitely no morning glories." He said looking at the morning glories fading thanks to the end of the sunrise.

"I vow never to fight again." I turned taking both of his hands.

To that bloodshed, crimson clover

"I vow to always be yours"  Jake smiled before softly kissing me.
