An Unexpected Gift Part II

Chapter 7- 'The devil snickered'

 I never knew how much I needed you

Until you caressed my gaze

You reached into my soul

And rearranged my whole existence

You picked together a puzzle that I was yet to solve

And solved an equation I wasn't ready for- Chaina

My pulse quickened, and my palms sweaty. I glanced down at the sleeping baby in my arms. Serenity. I pulled the blanket over its face because I wanted to maintain the peace even for a fraction of a second.

I heard a heavy footstep enter the doorway and immediately the girl grabbed the baby from my arms and curled up in the corner. Her movement was so sudden it had to be gut-wrenching fear. I felt a hard grab, painful, sharp, and intentional to my hair and I lost my balance, who could this be? Who else is here with us? I couldn't think! I grabbed the hand and kicked violently in an effort to free myself but the grip was soooo strong... I was being dragged through the door on my back. Who was this? I watched as the girl in the corner reflected my fear as she slowly got distant and suddenly I saw darkness.

The chair was hard, wooden. The sac still covered my head. What was happening? I resisted the urge to cry. It felt like a year since I ditched my security and sneaked out of the house. Curiosity did indeed kill the cat because I didn't wait on a call from Ryan. I just randomly decided to drive to the other side of town to the old abandoned building where I was abducted while pregnant. It still traumatized me but curiosity got the best of me. Does Demetri even know I snuck out?

I thrashed my head back and forth to try and see through the lines in the cloth but it was torture like squinting in the dark, I was stopped in my tracks when I heard a baby scream, it was a terrifying shrill of pain. It stopped me completely. I became still, focused, terrified, confused, all the emotions in one, one little voice made my heart jump... I was pensive when suddenly the cloth was pulled off my head, my eyes had to fight to adjust and when it did it was a sight I didn't want to see.

"Is this what you wondered over here for?"

It was Ryan holding the baby by one leg over a hole in the floor!

"Ryan what are you doing"

"Isn't it obvious? I don't care about this little shit anymore than I care about you anymore! You're a whore"

Tears formed in my eyes as I fought the urge to look weak and slowly tried to loosen my hands but a crackhead tied me good.

"Ryan take me and put the baby down"

"Bitch! Who told you, you can make demands? Do you know how long it took me to put this together? How were your prenatals?"

As I listened to him ranting, The question came to me.. Why would he ask about prenatals? He continued while shaking my little boy, my heart

" Do you think you could stab me and I would leave you forever?

He pulled the hunters' knife from his back.

"I told you, you are mine until death!

He shouted with such intensity the baby started hollering again and the girl behind me pulled into the corner as if to blend into the wall.

"You see that bitch behind you? She was the nurse who found me bleeding out in your room. She nursed me back to health while helping me to poison you slowly"

Poison me slowly? What did he mean? My gears were turning but I couldn't piece it together. The room fell silent, there was a sinister feel to his intentions, he broke my gaze as if he knew what I was thinking.
