AO3 users act as if any other site is utter trash. You can't even mention a different site in passing before they jump into a rant about why AO3 is better than anything else.
They are the Crypto-bros the Mercedes drivers and PC gamers of the Fanfiction world. To talk, not argue, just talk with them is more annoying than arguing with a Sony-pony or X-bot.
They can't admit that even AO3 has flaws. If they do it, they say you can just ad a browser extension. Besides that this only works if you use a browser that allows for such, this isn't a sign that AO3 is good.
It is a sign that AO3 sucks enough that someone felt the need to make a browser extension to fix something.
Geez, the title of this book needs a change, I changed my views on the sites: Why I love FFN, tolerate Wattpad and hate AO3('s userbase).
AO3 is okay-ish, it is just volunteer-run after all, which beings more downsides than the users want to admit, but the userbase sucks.
At this point, I only crosspost on AO3 out of obligation. There are a lot of readers and pretty much nothing is banned. I even posted my discontinued trash on there to archive it.
