Because of interruptions and the awkwardness of having it I hadn't opened the gift she'd given to me. It had been sitting there, for days now, on my night stand, staring at me. My brother had guilt-tripped me big time about all I'd done to Elizabeth, but if I convinced myself I would do it all again. Brian knocked on the door then came strolling in, I was just chilling in my boxers on the bed "Shouldn't you be getting ready for school?" I scoffed, "It's Saturday." He nodded firmly. "Then I have an idea." He pushed my legs off the bed, so he could sit down, so I politely moved and sat up as well.
"What is it?" I groaned, "Let's go out." He said, he looked excited. I peeked at him through a half-closed eyelid, "That's it? No tricks?" he nodded. He started ruffling through my clothes, throwing some stuff at me. "Put that on." I changed into some jeans and a tee, "Now what?" he stood up and left, with me at his heels. "The fun truly begins."
Liz's POV
It was a Saturday, a blessed Saturday, a day to relax, away from home, from school, from people. I was searching desperately for a dress, none were to be found, and during this search I discovered, no remembered three very important things:
1)I hate dresses
2)It was a Saturday, not Sunday
3)I don't go to church even if it happened to be Sunday
This made me hesitate, something I found myself never doing. I hated dresses, I always have, they made me sweat uncontrollably, showed off a great deal of my legs, which I was really protective about. I couldn't breathe in them and I just hated dresses, so why in the hell, have I, for the past 4 years worn these dresses.
I threw on some outfit roughly put together from the things my father had bought me, and stepped out the front door, ready to walk around. Someone had stolen my bike, I of course, screamed and cried, cut myself up about it, but in the end it was still gone. I was going for this walk to cry a little, but in my little circular patch of dirt marked off with stones, was Alex's car with Brian in the front seat leaning over into the passenger seat. "Ready for your lessons?"
Lessons? I didnt know what he was talking about. What lessons? Lessons. It rang somwthing within me loud, clear and hard. And my muscle memory carried me, and without much actual thought into his car. He politely opened the door, and I sat down in the passenger seat, on something soft. I bounced up and down, I looked over my shoulder, "Alex?!" I jumped and hit my head on the car ceiling. "Hold her down bro!" arms wrapped themselves firmly around me. "Let me go." I was going to say something about cooties, but the door was already closed. I or should I say we were already belted in, and he was speeding down the street.
We pulled up to Alex's house, no, not just Alex, but Brian's house too, right? Alex hesitated from unbuckling us, "What are you waiting for, loser?" I snapped angrily, I swear he was sniffing my hair, I heard the click of the seatbelt, and pushed the car door open. I stormed out, into Brian's outstretched arms he swung me around in circles, full circles, "Lizzie, my little Lizzie, you're all grown up." I nodded, "My feet aren't touching the ground," and he shook his head, "Nope." He rubbed our faces together. "I don't know if I'll ever put you down so they can again."
"Please do, your tight hold is restricting my breathing." I gasped; he put me on the ground. Our faces still quite close to each other, "Kiss." He whispered, "Kiss?" then his really soft lips touched mine, my eyes wide open, and then slowly closing. "Kiss." He said as I pulled away, wiping my lips, "Cooties." I murmured, "Oh, I forgot!" he face-palmed himself, "Circle, circle, Dot, dot - Now I've got the cootie shot!" I couldn't help but smile, no beam, with playful joy. He grabbed my hand, and we were off to lessons, I felt like I was nine again, before something happened?
