A/N: the next 5 - 6 weeks or so are gonna be crazy for me. It's concert mayhem. Taking care of all the outfits and hair and makeup is a lot of fun but also very stressful. And then just all the shows to attend plus some television related things I need to attend and obligations in my private life. And after that I'm hitting Vegas. Exciting stuff but it's a lot. I am working so hard to get the last 4 chapters or so of Live Wire up. Which is sad and exciting at the same time. These last couple ones might also be a bit longer cause I wanna wrap things up properly. Don't worry tho, I'll be starting a new book! I hope you all are excited about that too!

LOS ANGELES, AUGUST 8th, 1983

A little more than a month had passed since Angie and Tommy had their little rendezvous in the bathroom. A little over a month that Tommy had been engaged to his girlfriend and they were very busy planning their wedding. Angie hadn't told anyone about what had happened that night, not even Sharise. Things had been more awkward between her and Tommy, although, Tommy acted pretty much the same way he did before; pretending to be occupied by his fiancée but stealing glances of Angie every now and then. Angie on the other hand just tried to avoid him as much as she could, but given he was Nikki's best friend and they saw each other almost every day, wether it was for band practise or something else, made it hard to fully avoid him.

Angie also had finally scheduled a checkup appointment at the hospital. That was set for tomorrow, today she was finally going back to her old work place, Denny's, to meet up with Mary-Ann there. Ever since she walked into her at Walmart she wanted to accept her offer but her obligations with Playboy and her boyfriend's increasing popularity and that of his band called for a busy schedule. But today she had finally found the time to make an appearance at the diner down West Hollywood.

"Table for one, please." Angie said with a grin when she approached the waiter station where Mary-Ann was just sorting some menus. She immediately looked up and a big smile appeared on her face.
"Angie! You're here!" The woman said excitedly and pulled her in for a hug. "Come on, let's sit down, I am just starting my lunch break." She said and let her to a booth.
"I know," Angie replied as she followed her old co-worker. "Or did you think I just had wonderful timing?" She chuckled.
"You're a smart one, aren't ya?" Mary chuckled back as Angie sat down. "So what can I get you?"
"Just a coffee, please." She smiled before Mary-Ann walked away to get a piping hot pot of black coffee. Angie looked around a little awkwardly, she recognised a few people that worked there when she did, Nigel for example. He had always been nice to her. But it also felt weird to sit here as a costumer now.

"Here ya go, honey." Mary-Ann said as she returned with the coffee pot and poured them both a big mug.
"So, tell me everything, what have you been up to?" She asked as she sat down on the red sky leather bench.
"Oh, gosh, I don't even know where to begin." Angie replied, genuinely a bit overwhelmed by her question. So much had happened since she left.
"You do have a boyfriend now, one that apparently is not the one that followed you around like a puppy here." She gave an apologising look. "I'm sorry, I really didn't notice he was someone else, they all look alike!"
The blonde laughed. "That's okay, really." She assured her. "But yes, we've been together for quite some time now. I actually moved in with him."
"Oh, that's quick." Mary frowned. "But it you're happy together."
"Yeah, he got this big mansion up in Malibu. It's great, everything is being refurbished at the moment. We got a pool, a huge kitchen and living room, there's even a music studio for Nikki." Angie replied.
"Oh, wow, that is amazing. So, his band is doing well then, huh?" The older woman asked amazed.
"It is, they're doing great. Working on a new album right now as well." Angie nodded.
"And you? What are you doing now?"
"Oh I uh, I actually work for Playboy now." She replied, trying to sound casual.
"What?!" Mary said dumbfounded. "I heard some people here say you were in the magazine but I didn't believe them. I obviously didn't see the photos myself so..."
Angie couldn't help but laugh. "It's true, I was their July centrefold. I also just got my pay check so I will be looking for my own car soon." She smiled.
"Things are going well for you, huh? I have to say, I was very worried about you when you left. But I'm glad you're doing better. I really am." She smiled sweetly at Angie. Angie couldn't help but feel a little guilty, she really wasn't doing that much better than before. Financially, yes, but mentally, not so much. Alcohol and drugs were still an issue for her. And then her relationship with Nikki and the baby on the way.
