Mommies Baby Daddies Maybe

Her name is Destiny Miracle Ellis.
I figured she is our destiny baby. She is what we are meant to be. I chose Miracle because of all she has been through in her short span of life and look how healthy she is despite the tragic way that she had to come into this world. So one would say she is indeed a miracle baby. And of course Ellis because she is mine. Although, Crystal can't see or hear her I know my baby is a fighter and that little girl is a fighter just like her mom they both will be alright.

After Devale and Kayla left the nursery they headed straight to Crystals room both lingering at the door not wanting to go in. Fear holding them hostage. Devale was the first to finally open the door and walk in with Kayla following closely behind him. The sight before them made them both do a double take as tears escaped both their eyes. Laying before them was Crystal not looking anything like herself. The color was drained from her skin gone was the rich light caramel complexion replaced with a pale patchy  look. Her hair was a mess all over the place knotted in some areas. Nothing like the diva who kept her hair well maintained. And the silence was so unlike Crystal who would great anyone with a smile and soft words. Then there were so many tubes attached to her small frame body. In her mouth and nose was a tube. She had a line in her neck and a blood pressure cuff on her arm. An IV in her hand and a finger monitor on the top of her right pointer finger. Her feet were elevated and both were placed into foot cuffs. The constant beeping of the machines caused anyone who entered the room to look at the monitors. Crystal looked blooooted (swollen) looking at her you couldn't help but feel sad.  Devale was hesitant to touch her as he reached her bedside opting to run his hand over her hand. She was warm but it didn't look like life was left inside of her. Devale found a chair and sat down next to her. Grabbing her hand in his he dropped his head thinking about the medical emergency Crystal had and how she had to do it alone. Unable to hold back his emotions anymore he begins wailing seeing the woman he loves in such a dire state.

Devale stayed the night in crystals room only leaving to give skin to skin to their daughter and feed her and then he sat right back in the chair he placed by her bed. Day in and day out never leaving the hospital Devale would be with Crystal and then leave to head to the nursery spending time with Destiny and then right back by Crystals bedside. It's been over a week and Devale was still by crystals side. He never went home he showered and slept in Crystals room. Kayla and Crystals  family had bought him all the necessities he would need and the things they forgot he ordered online and has it delivered to the hospital. Devale didn't even answer his phone often times the battery would be dead because he didn't remember to charge it. So Kayla stepped up and would visit her friend daily and while Devale tended to the small task of taking care of Crystal, Kayla took care of Devale. One morning while Devale was asleep beside Crystals bed he felt a presence in the room. Opening his eyes he looked around and locks eyes with...

Are you serious right now Devale?

Devale
sucking his teeth) Yo, Khadeen what do you want?

Khadeen
Again, are you serious Devale? So what abandon our family for the new little one you made with that bitch?

Devale
Khadeen , what are you even doing here? How the hell did you even know where I was? Matter fact who let you back here?

Khadeen
Oh, was that a secret? That this (pointing) shell of a woman  couldn't even have a baby correctly without dying? Or better yet, that she couldn't even properly hide her identity like who uses their characters name she's so damn stupid. Or maybe I should say was cause by the looks of things she is going going going GOOOOOOONEEEEE. (Laughing)

Devale quickly gets up rushing Khadeen as she tries to run for the door he grabs her by her throat slamming her into the wall

Devale
clenched teeth)Repeat that for me? What the FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT CRYSTAL?

Khadeen's eyes are beginning to bulge as she frantically tries to remove Devales hands from around her throat. Tears begin to slip from her eyes as she realizes that Devale is so gone he is actually trying to kill her.

Khadeen
S..sto..stop

Devale
No repeat that slick shit you was saying for me again

Khadeen
Gasping for air

Devale
Exactly what I thought if anyone is weak it's you!

Releasing Khadeen devale walks away leaving her gasping for air as he focuses his attention back on Crystal. Taking his seat beside the bed he speaks without looking back.

Devale
I suggest you go back where you came from and when I'm ready to speak to you I will! Until then you better keep Crystals name out of your mouth and if you even think to utter anymore bullshit about her it will be your last words. Do I make myself clear?

Khadeen
Fuck you Devale I cant believe that..

Devale
DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR KHADEEN?

Khadeen rubs her neck looking at the man she loves while he has his attention on the woman he loves fighting back tears she opens the door to leave

Khadeen
WE ARE DONE DO YOU HEAR ME?

Devale
Say it from the other side of the door I've said my peace Khadeen!
