Write a letter to me
As if you were dying
Right about your love for me
About my eyes
How they make you smile
How I changed you
And how you hoped you changed me
Write and write and write
Until your pen runs out
And your hand starts cramping
Give me something to hear your voice in
When I'm standing by your grave
In the pooring rain
Wishing the mound of fresh soil
Would swallow me whole
And bring me into your arms
Wishing the sky
Would open wide
And rain down you tears
To have something of you
Until the water makes me blind
And I see your face in the clouds
Write to me
Now, later and forever
Right to me, now
I don't know
But you know
Yet most don't know
When the end is near
And when it's far
I want to have something to remember you by
Without you
All the rivers run dry
The sun will swallow the earth
Grief will swallow my soul
